As a member of the QA team, be actively involved in planning, estimation, and execution of test plans.

As a member of an agile project team, work closely with Product and Development team members as part of the daily scrum.

Actively participate in all Sprint events including story refinement sessions, daily scrum and retrospectives.

Review product specifications and technical requirements, and develop comprehensive test coverage to ensure high quality outcomes.

Write, execute and maintain manual test cases, and design, create and maintain scripts to automate the testing process.

Create automated scripts to assist in test coverage and reduce exclusively manual effort where possible.

Maintain manual / automation regression packs following a sprint to ensure they are up to date.

Identify problems and troubleshoot key features during the test cycle, reporting software defects in a clear and concise manner.

Detect, record and report on product test issues, and follow through with development and product owners to ensure timely and accurate resolution.

Provide Management Information with regard to the quality of software and its testing based on bugs and their priorities as raised during test execution.

Undertake additional duties as requested by the QA Manager.  

Essential skills & experience

Bachelor in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.

Experience of software testing both manual and automated, ideally from a SaaS / commercial web based application environment.

Creation of automated test cases using Gherkin (Specflow). 

The knowledge to create step definitions and page classes using Selenium C# would be very beneficial. 

Creation of clear and concise manual test cases.

Ability to create and manage all Testware (plans, cases, cycles, data) including regression / sanity pack maintenance.

Understanding of microservices, containerized applications and event-based communication.

Exposure to Rancher / Kubernetes / Event Bus implementations such as RabbitMQ or Azure.

API testing (SOAP / REST) using tools such as Swagger / Postman / ReadyAPI / SoapUI / LoadUI.

Experience and understanding of integration, system, functional and user acceptance testing process.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams both on and off-shore.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced agile environment.

Enthusiastic, creative and capable of producing positive results while working under pressure.

A proactive and professional attitude to managing your own workload and impediments through to resolution.

Motivation and ability to suggest and implement improvements to further strengthen the effectiveness of software testing.

Desirable skills

ISTQB certified to at least Foundation level would be highly desirable.

Experience and understanding of scalability, performance and load testing would be very beneficial.

Awareness of non-functional requirements such as security, localization and cross-browser / device testing. 

Understanding of automation testing and continuous integration within the development lifecycle.

End to end understanding of the Software Development lifecycle specifically in relation to Agile / scrum methodologies.

Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA, Zephyr, Confluence).

Cross-browser and device testing experience.
