The Opportunity

BabyCenter is looking for a skilled writer and editor who's passionate about creating content that improves people's lives. As Assistant Editor, you'll play a key role in reaching millions of new and expecting parents and developing trusted content for our site, apps, and e-mail.

This full-time position may be based in our San Francisco office or remote. 

Key Responsibilities

  •       Writing and editing: Create new and updated pregnancy and parenting content, working with experts on our Medical Advisory Board
  •       Content strategy: Select content to promote in newsletters and apps based on performance metrics
  •       Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Work with BabyCenter's senior editors to repackage and refresh existing content to perform well in search
  •       Tracking trends: Help shape our coverage of trends in preconception, pregnancy, and parenting
  •       Administrative tasks: Manage some contracts, invoicing, and editorial projects

 

Job Qualifications

  •       1–3 years editorial experience, including internships and college publications. Experience with pregnancy, parenting, and health content is a plus, but not required. Open to recent graduates.
  •       Able to produce engaging, accurate copy on deadline
  •       Excellent written and verbal communication
  •       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  •       Comfortable in a fast-paced, data-driven work environment
