Our ideal candidate has experience in the digital space, is familiar with the publisher/agency/client relationship and wants to be in an entry sales role with IGN. The candidate will represent IGN with a high level of integrity and knowledge and act as a resource for the region’s clients and agencies. This role will assist the Sales Manager in generating revenue from national consumer brands in the greater West Coast territory.

As the Account Executive (AE), we are looking for someone to work very closely with both the Sales Manager and Account Coordinator to help grow the overall West Coast territory. The candidate should be proactive, a good problem solver and motivated to help exceed quarterly quotas. It’s also important that the candidate be a good team player who is always looking to deliver the best results. What does that mean exactly?

  • As a key member of the West Coast team, the Account Executive (AE) will be responsible for working with the Sales Manager and Account Coordinator to help grow the territory in terms of number of advertisers and overall territory revenue.
  • Support National Sales Manager in prospecting, building and maintaining territory ad revenue.
  • Support the pre and post sales process for the sales team including the National Sales Manager & Director.
  • Take lead in developing compelling sales collateral in response to advertiser RFPs.
  • Assist in working with existing and potential clients to determine their business needs and formulate an ad sales solution
  • Work closely with other departments, including Ad Operations, Integrated Marketing, Design + Creative, Video and Editorial.
  • Track and manage advertiser pipeline and reconcile with Finance Department.
  • Manage and supervise the day to day duties of a Sales Coordinator.
  • Assistance in planning client entertainment & events.
  • Maintain knowledge of the industries, trends and market we service.
  • Requires occasional travel
  • Maintain knowledge of the industries, trends and market that IGN services.

What will get you in the door?

  • At least 3 years of experience in digital ad sales/online media. Previous agency experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently both internally and externally
  • Have a positive, problem solving attitude
  • Team-player with an outsized sense of fun
  • Proficient in Power Point and Excel, as well as the ability to quickly understand and learn any propriety IGN software programs.
  • Being able to creatively tell a story through Power Point – both when creating resources for a meeting and when submitting a proposal.
  • Must be extremely organized, and able to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines
  • Strong desire to win, and to continually develop your personal and professional skills
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Team player that works well with others across departments and the organization
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
