Ziff Davis LLC is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team.  This position is for Ziff Davis San Francisco office and candidate will be managing multiple brands of our company.  The individual will report to the Accounting Manager in the San Francisco Office and will focus on revenue recognition and general accounting.



Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of transaction entries for input into the general ledger accounting system.
  • Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and income statement account analysis.
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger accounting system, business units and departments.
  • Preparation of monthly revenue analytics for presentation and distribution to Business Leads and Management teams.
  • Accounts Receivable collection responsibilities for the Ziff Davis B2B brand.
  • Revenue recognition for the IGN Gaming brand in accordance with ASC 606 revenue standards.
  • Revenue recognition for the B2B brand in accordance with ASC 606 revenue standards.
  • Review different customer portals to book revenue and expenses monthly.
  • Ensure that invoice creation and client invoices are sent out accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enforcement of consistent month-end deadlines as part of the general ledger closing process.
  • Maintaining support files and documentation, thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Responding to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting business unit and departmental financial data.
  • Completing external and internal audit requests by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • Protecting an organization's value by keeping financial and operational information confidential. 



Desired Skills and Experience:

  • BS in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in general accounting functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (eg, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Salesforce) a plus
  • Exposure and experience in Sarbanes Oxley a plus
  • Ability to take initiative, follow-through, and execute
