Position at Humble Bundle

Since its “humble” beginnings in 2017, Humble Bundle's published games have consistently received very positive reception from the public and critics alike, and consequently our publishing portfolio has steadily grown. 

As a publisher, we want to have consistent and accurate reporting of the current development state of all the games we are publishing and of all games we are considering for publication. This role would help our organization by regularly playing and reporting on each of the 30+ games that are in development or being ported to other platforms. Additionally they would be responsible for drafting and coordinating test plans across multiple teams and external QA services. 

Our ideal candidate should love to play games and have a passion for game design and development, as well as strong communication skills. As the front line of Humble Bundle's game evaluation process, they will spend their days playing games on various platforms and writing reports to help the broader team stay up-to-date on all projects.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with Senior Producer to identify key deliverables for each game
  • Play and evaluate games in various stages of development and porting
  • Identify issues that could impact a game's ability to ship on time and to quality
  • Write and share internal reports directed at Humble's publishing team that document the status of each game, from high level overview to detailed observations
  • Document, prioritize, and communicate issues/bugs with developers and porters 
  • Organize internal testing when broader feedback is needed by developers and porters
  • Ensure all games are being reviewed on a proper cadence relative to the release calendar

Experience / Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years working in the game industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • An understanding of game development and game design
  • Previous experience using tracking software such as JIRA, Asana, or others
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Bonus Points

  • Experience in Game Testing and/or Quality Assurance
  • Above average knowledge of games and gaming culture, including PC/Mac, Console and Mobile. 
  • Hobbyist interest in indie game development
