IGN is looking for an experienced leader to oversee the relaunch and growth of our paid member subscription program, as well as our renewed focus on community and user registration growth. This includes oversight of upper and lower funnel user registration and subscription, including membership product development, subscription marketing, partner relations, and email list growth. This role works closely with senior management to establish our overall subscription business direction, and will have the opportunity to build a nimble team with potential for further growth.

Requirements and Expectations

 

We’re looking for a cross-functional, entrepreneurial leader with previous experience working within an established subscription or membership business. Individuals with strong communication skills who can independently identify, research and overcome hurdles while maintaining a 360-degree view on long term success will thrive in this role, as will individuals with experience owning a DAU/MAU KPI for a growing online service.

 

        Previous leadership experience in ecommerce subscription or membership operations

        Deep understanding and experience reading and building views into subscription KPIs including retention and churn, customer LTV, future revenue planning, etc.

        Holistic, whole-funnel thinker capable of balancing upper-funnel community health and user registration with lower-funnel paid subscription hooks and development of paid product features.

        Experience evaluating and negotiating with third party vendors and platforms

        Familiarity with paid customer acquisition channels, as well as platform-specific best practices

        Familiarity with product development pipelines and roadmapping new feature development

        Experience with email list growth and email marketing

        Experience with customer service team structures, tools, and scripts

 

Nice-to-Haves

 

        Business development or outbound sales experience within video games, comic books, anime, etc. would be beneficial

 

Job Duties

 

        Build out a small, nimble team (with future growth potential) to oversee member growth, subscription product development, and third-party partner offers

        Assess internal vs. external platforms and tools for a subscription member portal, member offers, etc.

        Track and report on registered member growth, active logged-in users, revenue, subscribers, churn, other key growth KPIs

        Evaluate and map free vs. paid IGN site features and functions

        Build and test sales, events, and promotions to increase paid subscriber base

        Build and grow IGN email newsletter products

        Own IGN’s relationship with key IGN+ vendors (payment, subscription platforms, etc.)

        Conduct market research, reader surveys, and stakeholder interviews to inform future free or paid membership features and products

        Coordinate with and oversee customer support contractors and site moderators

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.
