Position Summary

 

Ziff Davis, LLC, is seeking a Financial Analyst for its Gaming industry vertical, which includes both Humble Bundle and IGN Entertainment. This position will serve the Gaming division, and plan, direct and coordinate all FP&A operational functions and ensure the quality of forecasts and earnings in partnership with the finance, accounting and business leads.

 

About Humble Bundle. Humble sells games, ebooks, software, and other digital content. Our mission is to support charity while providing awesome content to customers at great prices. We launched in 2010 with a single two-week Humble Indie Bundle, but we have humbly grown into a store full of games and bundles, a subscription service with over 400,000 subscribers, a game publisher, and more. In 2020, we raised 28.8 million for charity and since inception, Humble has raised over $191 million for charity continuing on its mission to be a force for good.

Responsibilities

       Be comfortable identifying, forecasting and optimizing the core drivers, KPIs, of the revenue streams across the portfolio.

       Assist in all modeling and financial planning including delivering budgets, monthly forecasts and weekly pacing helping to identify revenue maximizing initiatives and aid executive decision-making.

       Develop financial models for new product initiatives, financial valuation, DCF, and merger (accretion/dilution) models and be dexterous with key outputs.

       Developing models that offer long range market size assumptions and forecasting, as well as determine the Lifetime Value (LTV) of players.

       Model and interpreting trends within internal data sets covering sales and telemetry data to offer clarity on how to accelerate the acquisition, engagement and/or monetisation of players.

       Research and analyse the video game market, its characteristics, competitive landscape, emerging issues, market trends and publishing models.

       Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and publish reports that offer player, market and competitor insights that can leveraged for strategy formulation.

       Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and help encourage best practices across the org.    

 

Qualifications:

        Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sciences, Finance, Accounting or Statistics.

        Graduated from a competitive two-year Investment Banking Analyst or equivalent financial analyst training program, preferred.

        Two plus (2+) years of experience in finance and strategic analysis in investment banking, or equivalent work within an FP&A function, preferred.

        Entrepreneurial drive, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

        Highly proficient in financial analysis, excel modelling, and able to use most software and financial systems including NetSuite, Adaptive, Oracle PBCS. Comfortable with SQL, GoogleSheets a plus.

        Familiarity and interest in gaming industry and terms e.g., F2P, Steam Wishlists, DLC.

        Able to work comfortably under pressure, pivot when necessary, and meet tight deadlines. Always willing to follow up.

       Be comfortable working late, nights and weekends, when required, and be able to manage one’s time. Some travel required.

       Become a trusted partner to the General Managers, finance reps and business leaders to ensure that forecasts, pacing’s, and analyses most accurately reflect the business.

       Have an active interest in the industry, competition, and market.
