Product Manager - Martech


J2's Martech business is seeking a mid-level Product Manager to join our team.


J2 Global is a leading Internet information and services company consisting of a portfolio of brands across digital media and cloud services. Our Martech business, part of Cloud Services, includes iContact, Campaigner, Kickbox, SMTP.com and Moz.  


This position will focus on our iContact brand to start, with the opportunity to cross-train on our other brands over time.  iContact primarily serves a small business audience by providing an email marketing platform widely known for its ease of use. We help thousands of small businesses and nonprofits grow their audiences through email marketing, allowing them to easily design and send beautiful, personalized emails.  


We have ambitious growth plans for iContact, so this is an opportunity to be a key contributor in helping us meet and exceed our targets.


Position Overview


Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will work to define and develop the product roadmap for iContact.  You will play a key role in shaping the direction of iContact to meet the needs of our existing customers, while also working to evolve the platform to reach new customers.


Balancing market research and competitive knowledge with priorities surfaced by internal stakeholders will be key to successful roadmap development and refinement.  You will work to prioritize these internal and external influences as you help shape iContact's future.


How you’ll make an impact.


Gather feedback and research to build business cases and write requirements for new features and feature enhancements. 


Define and prioritize a product/feature backlog. Develop epics, user stories, etc. using JIRA.


Triage and prioritize issues as they come up, working with engineering to arrive at timely, effective solutions.


Lead and/or participate in sprint planning meetings and solution reviews with engineering, prioritizing roadmap items and timing.  


Lead and/or participate in daily scrums to stay up to date on progress of work items, and keep stakeholders informed of progress or potential issues.  


Create documents, training presentations and other critical go-to-market items for internal teams to ensure sufficient training and adoption of new features and enhancements. 


Collaborate with the Marketing, Professional Services, and Sales to review customer and internal product requirements.  


Hold monthly and quarterly meetings with internal stakeholders to collect internal and customer feedback to help shape the short and long term roadmap for iContact.


What you'll bring to the team.


  • 5+ years of product management experience in a SaaS environment.  Bonus if your experience is digital marketing related, or if you've worked on a platform or product that focuses on the small business audience.  

  • Experience leading product development end-to-end, from creating business cases through to go-to-market launches. 

  • A combination of business and technical knowledge, allowing you to work comfortably with all internal partner teams.  

  • Experience using analytics, BI, and other data to make decisions.  

  • You are comfortable leading and working cross-team to get things done.  

  • A willingness to put forth and accept ideas for consideration.  You appreciate an inclusive, collaborative approach to roadmap planning.

  • You are familiar with agile best practices, JIRA, Confluence, and the pressures of a regular release cycle

  • You are able to deliver communications that are clear, concise and effective regardless of the audience.  .

  • You are curious, appreciate the value of research and consider yourself a fast learner who can quickly develop a deep understanding of the market, our products, and the competition.
