Human Capital Analyst/People Analytics

J2 Global is looking for a skilled Human Capital Analyst to bring the power of data to the J2 Global HR organization. As our Human Capital Analyst you'll be detail-oriented and conscientious, analytical and curious. You're a strong problem-solver, who uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to get things done. At J2 Global, you will play an important role in leading the HR team with data and analytical needs across the globe. Your knowledge of people data and business context will enable you to provide action-oriented analyses to ensure as a company we are well-informed and able to make thoughtful, data-driven decisions. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates throughout HR, as well as leaders of multiple cross-functional departments, gleaning meaningful stories from J2 Global's workforce data. Through your analytical ingenuity we will optimize recruiting and HR efforts, as well as the employee experience.


In your day to day, you'll develop and create dashboards for the HR team and managers; and seek out and implement new data tools and resources to improve J2’s analytics, providing valuable insights to J2 Global's leadership team. You’ll play an essential role in advancing a more diverse, accessible, equitable, and inclusive J2 through our hiring, promotion, retention, and inclusion practices. The ideal candidate is not only talented with data, but able to communicate insights in a way that influences decision-making.


The People Analytics Analyst will:


  • Help to enhance our capability to analyze and "make sense" of large sets of data and translate findings in a visually appealing manner that tell a story and help us make better data driven decisions
  • Develop data-driven analysis to support strategic decision making for HR and Business initiatives
  • Pull data and generate insights to support presentations and documentation to various levels of stakeholders
  • Create executive-ready analytics deliverables (e.g., reports, dashboards, google slide presentations, etc.)
  • Create and support the development of compelling workforce stories and actionable insights through HR business intelligence and data visualization
  • Collaborate with members of HR to identify, standardize and implement data & analytics solutions, including enhanced tools and process improvements
  • Collaborate with core teams (e.g, Reporting, HR Ops, Benefits, IT, etc.) to deliver on key priorities (e.g., dashboard, surveys, data requests)
  • Evaluate industry developments, market trends, and news to resolve impacts to conduct in-depth industry benchmarking, company and market trend research, and peer analysis
  • Ensure prioritization and timely delivery of requests, data accuracy and consistency

  • 5+ years of experience in People Analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, such as Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Industrial/Organizational Psychology (disciplines with substantial scientific and quantitative training preferred)
  • Experience using ADP report writing functions
  • Proficient in Google Suite office skills (e.g., Sheets, Slides, Data Studio), plus microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools
  • Experience generating insights from analysis of multiple data sources
  • Previous work experience working in data analytics, and visualization, business intelligence or analytical consulting
  • Previous work experience working in HR data analytics
  • Demonstrated experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
