This Assistant Controller position is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a dynamic business (SaaS business model) with high visibility and growth ambitions.
J2 Global continues to grow and we are expanding our accounting team which operates internationally with accounting teams in the US and Europe. As a fast paced, dynamic, global accounting team of a public company we are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the
Company's accounting activities.
As an Assistant Controller you will participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting by business unit and location. . This is a key position not only in the accounting department but supporting the operations of many of the businesses as well.
J2 has an active acquisition strategy, so experience with the accounting for integration of acquisitions is essential.  The successful candidate will also be a resource for Revenue
Accounting for a SaaS/monthly subscription model, help with integrating recent acquisitions in
the monthly close process for J2’s global footprint and an integral part of process improvement
to drive efficiencies and automation in our newly migrated Oracle Fusion cloud ERP system.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for overall month end/ quarter end close process on a timely basis
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed. Provide overall mentorship to the team.
Analyze financial information and drive month end support and documentation
Liaison to internal and external auditors to support public company requirements
Coordinate and prepare reports to support upper management
Drive process improvement and contribute to exiting projects that achieve
scalability and efficiency, system design and core accounting framework and management reporting
Provide accounting support to the Corp Dev team on M&A by participating in due diligence, technical accounting support and leading the accounting integrations
Partner with cross functional teams such as FP&A, Tax, Financial operations,
Internal audit, legal to address operational challenges, business growth and
process improvement

Qualifications:

Managed a team of 10 plus in month end close process/process improvement
Experience with subscription based revenue company revenue recognition
Strong GL analysis and solid understanding of US GAAP and applicable
regulations
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Detail oriented and highly organized
Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in M&A due diligence (not required/a plus)
Oracle Fusion Cloud ( not required/a plus)
Experience in using automation tools to streamline processes

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
At least 2 years in public accounting/US technical accounting experience required
CPA preferred
