The candidate will lead creation and execution of content calendars; outline and incorporate SEO best practices; manage freelancers to ensure engaging content (articles, video, white papers, podcasts, case studies, etc.); identify key audiences/channels across on-site, social media, blogs, microsites, email, PR and more; and measure performance across channels. As such, the ideal candidate will possess the expertise to define and develop content initiatives as well as a strong analytical ability to optimize ongoing delivery strategy, including repeatedly testing various tools, content formats, distribution, and target audiences, while tactically executing a cohesive content narrative that reflects the Health eCareers brand.  The content marketing manager will work closely with both our consumer marketing team aimed at healthcare job seekers and our B2B marketing and sales teams aimed at healthcare employers (hospitals, health systems, healthcare recruiting firms) to drive effective content that leads to higher engagement, conversion and demand gen opportunities.  This role is an integral part of our marketing team and will help shape how we engage with health care professionals and customers to reinforce Health eCareers as a thought leader in our field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a content marketing strategy that reflects our position as the leading career resources for health care professionals
  • Create and manage a weekly and monthly content calendar with input from key stakeholders
  • Define and implement SEO best practices that support the content strategy (e.g. providing informational and interesting content targeted at specific keywords to improve SEO)
  • Manage editorial workflows, freelancers, partners and customers to curate, develop, and source relevant, quality content and ensure on time and on budget delivery
  • Strategically prioritize content assets on-site, email, social, video, PR and other channels
  • Work with the B2C marketing team and B2B/sales teams to leverage product assets and develop content that ensures maximum impact across organic and paid channels and drives conversions of relevant audiences through content
  • Define and track key success metrics (KPIs) to measure engagement/ROI of content, assess the broader business impact, optimize delivery for each piece of content, and repeatedly test various tools, formats and distribution channels across various target audience segments
  • Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reporting of results and insights to key business partners
  • Collaborate with marketing team to position Health eCareers as a thought leader with customers
  • Directly supervise the operations of Health eCareers' content website and partner microsites, targeted to health care professionals, employers, and recruiters
  • Serve as an internal SME championing content and engagement best practices to rest of business

Job Qualifications

  • BS/BA in communications, marketing, English, media, journalism or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in content marketing and development (written, video, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and translate data into actionable proposals and measure / optimize engagement across channels
  • Proven record of execution to support goals and KPIs
  • Strong knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
  • Must be able to think strategically, but stay on top of tactical execution with the ability to manage multiple projects, integrated campaigns, set goals, prioritize tasks, and manage a budget
  • Previous experience working with a CMS such as WordPress, Drupal, Hippo, or HubSpot
  • Proficiency with marketing technology/platforms including Google Analytics, Linkedin, Facebook Insights, Twitter, and social/community management tools like Hootsuite
  • Outgoing, proactive, friendly, and an excellent communicator with colleagues of all levels
  • Organized and efficient with the ability to respond well under pressure
  • Health care or recruiting experience a plus
