The Ziff Media Group Fellows Program is searching for energetic and motivated individuals looking to develop their career in digital media.  If you’re looking for an opportunity to geek out on tech, internet culture and e-commerce, in a fast-paced, data-driven, results-oriented environment, ZMG is the place for you.

With available positions across multiple departments, from monetization and marketing to analytics and editorial, Fellows will apply fresh and forward-thinking insights to real-life needs. 

Fellowships are geared towards individuals in the early stages of their career path who have a foundational knowledge of the industry and experience relevant to the specific role for which they are applying. Fellowships have an initial term of three months which can be extended for up to a total of 12 months. All fellowship roles are paid and eligible for our healthcare benefits.

As the Fellows Program is aimed at cultivating the next generation of digital media leaders, the culmination of the Fellows program may lead to future employment at ZMG. In the past, select high-performing Fellows have become full time employees at the end or shortly after their fellowship was completed.

Overview:

This is a unique opportunity for a fellow to join the Ziff Media Group Email Marketing team in 2021. This role will support the Email Marketing Director across all aspects of the newsletter channel, from email acquisition to deployment. You will gain exposure to PCMagazine and Mashable newsletter brands and work cross-functionally across several teams to drive email marketing growth and performance goals.  

This role will assist Email Marketing Director in day to day operations of the Email Marketing channel, including: 

  • Tracking and analyzing performance of email newsletter engagement KPI’s (open/click rates) and session data using Google Analytics.  
  • Project management of Email Acquisition vendor (Wunderkind) including proactively following up on the status of new initiatives/tests, modal QA/testing and pulling/analyzing performance metrics from their reporting platform.
  • Building new workflows and optimizing existing workflows in Campaigner (Email Service Provider) platform as needed to drive engagement and retention of email subscribers. 
  • Creating test plans for subject lines and creative elements to drive increased engagements (open/click rates). 
  • Monitoring list growth, attrition and deliverability of emails using segmentation tools in Campaigner (Email Service Provider).  
  • Aligning with cross-functional internal teams such as Product, Editorial and Creative to develop and launch new email initiatives that drive growth and retention of the PCMag and Mashable audiences.  
  • Staying up to date on the latest email marketing trends and packaging into relevant insights that help drive our business forward.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in email marketing, database marketing, acquisition marketing or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced/remote environment.
  • Power user of Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with an interest and knowledge of tech and digital lifestyle space
