The Opportunity

Everyday Health Professional is looking for a Director, Solutions Lab within our sales team to oversee management of our editorial and promo/MedEd product portfolio.  The Director serves as an expert on both the healthcare and digital media industry with a focus on leveraging market and audience insights to help serve as an industry expert in communicating with clients with a focus on providing strategic direction and support to field sales and Everyday Health Professional’s pharmaceutical clients. They will work with a cross-functional sales team to bring the value proposition of our products to life will possess a passion for helping the field sales team to drive high close rates across clients.

The Director will serve as the portfolio subject matter expert and will be responsible for ensuring market effectiveness of these products including development of product messaging and sales tools, field sales and internal product training, field support for client presentations, and ongoing product performance assessment and optimization.  They must have the ability to understand our clients’ marketing goals and then position our product solutions to meet each clients’ unique needs.  The platforms employed will include but are not limited to native advertising, interactive learning products, digital media campaigns, email campaigns, and other tactics aimed at increasing physician awareness and utilization of specific pharmaceutical brands. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Editorial and promo/MedEd product portfolio management:
    • Serves as subject matter expert for campaigns involving conference coverage, society/partner product offerings, disease state education or awareness, treatment option education, peer-to-peer interaction, KOL engagement, and other mechanisms for advertisement integration with editorial content 
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of product portfolio value proposition, pricing, and data/insights capabilities
    • Develops relationships and collaborates closely with key internal departments in strategic planning, marketing/delivery, editorial and product management
    • Serves as internal editorial liaison for medical education and custom development needs
    • Overall ownership of product messaging and field communication/sales tools including field training
  • Provides strategic field support in client presentations: develops and customizes insightful and engaging sales presentations and proposals that communicate knowledge of our customers and the value of our solutions
  • Supports RFP proposal responses for sales organization in a timely and efficient manner that increases closing rates. 
  • Maintains team status reports and provides sales analysis including YOY tracking, close rates and account market research as needed
  • Collaborates with the Solutions Lab Custom Brand Director for product troubleshooting, new product development, client satisfaction, and revenue growth
  • Product performance analysis and insights development:
    • Analyzes product performance and helps to forecast future product performance in conjunction with sales team leads
    • Works with data analytics and insights team members to communicate targeting and reporting that supports the needs and objectives of our customers
  • Ongoing product optimization:
    • Drives product optimization as needed to stay competitive in the market working closely with the product and development team.
    • Identifies market gaps based on client and field conversations and feeds learnings back to Director, Innovation and New Product Marketing; works with appropriate teams to envision and launch new editorial-centric product offerings

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in HCP promotion or promotional medical education, with a focus on digital products, platforms, and/or media. 
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical brand marketing plans, objectives, and success metrics and applications to HCP mindsets and needs by specialty and care setting
  • Deep understanding of digital content, marketing platforms/delivery systems and their business models
  • Proven ability to rapidly assimilate multi-faceted data and information sets to effectively develop strategic and tactical plans that are consistent with sales team objectives
  • Envisions long-term growth opportunities and is able to identify the top key factors driving product and campaign performance; ability to build key concepts and trends into a strategic vision for our approach to sales strategy with an external focus on gaining a competitive advantage 
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking demonstrated by the ability to effectively identify patterns or key concepts in disparate information, trends and discrepancies, and in ability to pull together ideas/issues and data into a concise story
  • Ability to overcome obstacles to delivering on client objectives, effectively balancing the needs of the client with internal business objectives 
  • Strives to constantly drive deeper market and audience understanding, applying knowledge to all product strategies and vehicles; able to help build market/audience knowledge intimacy across all functions
