This position is responsible for handling day-to-day billing operations for new and existing products, planning / execution of billing project initiatives, as well as identifying and driving process improvementsThis individual will have significant cross-departmental interaction, collaborating with the Revenue, Sales Operations, Legal, and Finance teams on a daily basis. Personal activities will include leading a team in designing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective billing processes. This position is highly visible and requires an effective leader with strong finance/accounting background and ability to prioritize, plan, and direct a team.

This role will require a proven ability to drive change and automate manual processes in order to produce consistent, timely and accurate invoices and reporting. 


Job Duties:

  • Supervises the staff and daily operations of the Billing business functions
  • Sets department objectives and performance goals; monitors work performance to determine staff resources utilization; reviews monthly work statistics and reports; establishes work performance standards and adjusts staffing levels as needed
  • Lead month-end closing of billing on a timely basis so that the financial close timeline is not adversely impacted
  • Define, improve, and ensure compliance with the company's billing standardization and automation objectives to ensure a streamlined billing process that can be scaled globally
  • Build and run various reports for the team and various internal customers. Analyze billing information to provide recommendations and data to various internal customers and to ensure accurate understanding of contract and billing information
  • Serve as customer escalation and resolution point for invoicing related issues and disputes
  • Improve, monitor and enforce billing policies and procedures, and ensure they evolve appropriately as the company scales
  • Reviews and approves billing transactions, including invoicing, refunds, credits, cash application and write-offs
  • Ensures payments received for all services are entered in the system and allocated properly
  • Develops operational and volume metrics and analyzes them on a monthly basis.  Makes appropriate staffing recommendations based on volume
  • Recommends and implements process improvements
  • Represents billing function on cross-functional project team

 

 

 

Job Requirements and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or other related field required. 
  • 8-10 in Accounting and/or Billing Operations, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Strong report automation skillset desired
  • Strong leader with the ability to mentor and effect change in an organization
  • Oracle Fusion, CPQ and Oracle Service Contracts experience preferred
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Managing AR averaging $100+ million per year with proven background in Revenue Cycle Management
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong listening and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work independently
