The successful candidate for our Vice President, Communications will be a seasoned professional with experience establishing strategic engagement plans to motivate employees and drive business goals. You will be the ultimate champion of our company’s brands and culture, helping the portfolio by defining and elevating the brands; leading storytelling with powerful content and media; and highlighting our best work across multiple channels.

You are an experienced, content strategist, business writer and relationship manager with a facility for delivering clear, fast, powerful content in a variety of formats, and a vision for how to connect key business themes and content channels internally and externally. You’ll need to be entrepreneurial and opportunistic, identifying out-of-the box avenues for our brands to pursue, leveraging your relationships internally and externally.

You will work across the network globally; partnering with senior business leaders, marketing, HR, strategy and creative to ensure content and communications delivery is coordinated across the organization and aligned with the company’s strategic messaging and branding goals. This is a highly visible role that will report to the CEO and will have two direct reports.  This position is located on our New York Office.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related communication / PR, marketing, business, etc. discipline
  • Previous experience working in a corporate role within SaaS, Publishing, Technology, Agency and/or Digital Media industries a strong plus
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate/internal/executive communications role or equivalent consulting experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective executive communication content requiring minimal editing and rework.
  • You will have demonstrated experience with crisis and issues management
  • Ability to work independently, to take initiative, drive as well as function effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have a collaborative approach to working with the ability to interact and influence employees at all levels, including senior executives
  • Strong writing skills are essential with writing samples required prior to interview and cover letter is also preferred

  • Must possess a positive/can-do attitude and be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to translate complicated concepts into clear, compelling message for internal audiences
  • Develop and execute executive engagement plans for leaders across the brands
  • Craft executive communications across the organization, including organizational announcements, leader messaging, presentations, scripts, and talking points for internal and external events
  • Manage content development, design, presentation preparation and rehearsals, and be on site day of event to handle executive needs.
  • Collaborate closely with your team to manage Internal Communications (culture, collaboration & community) to identify right mix curation across platforms
  • Must be a strong people manager with the ability to leverage the strengths of your team to meet the ever-evolving needs of our dynamic businesses
  • Powerful interpersonal skills; experience in a relationship-based position that requires engaging with many stakeholders and requires effective communication skills to influence outcomes.
  • Must have confident and effective public speaking skills.
