The IGN Commerce Team is seeking its first Site Merchandising Manager to join its growing E-Commerce division. This role will report into and work hand-in-hand with the IGN Store Business Operations Manager to manage the IGN Store website and drive optimization projects. We are looking for a merchandising expert who is self-starting, capable of developing and implementing action plans that optimize the shopping experience of the IGN Store site, striking a balance between achieving key KPI metrics and an engaging customer experience.

Requirements and Expectations


IGN Store’s Site Merchandising Manager will have broad authority over the customer experience. KPIs this role is responsible for include customer conversion rate, cart abandonment/recovery rate, and average order value. As the IGN Store’s second full-time employee, entrepreneurial individuals who can independently identify, explore, and overcome obstacles will thrive, as will individuals who enjoy the opportunity to participate in and lead multidisciplinary projects.


        Previous experience in site merchandising with a focus on a consumer-focused e-commerce is required.

        Experience with Shopify Plus E-Commerce platform strongly preferred

        Proficient in using analytical tools such as Google Analytics or equivalents to make data driven decisions

        High level of initiative, able to drive forward multiple projects

        Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with multiple teams

        Strong interpersonal and communication skills




        Experience with product photography is a bonus, but is not required

        Personal familiarity with current video games, comic books, and anime

        Copywriting experience

        Basic knowledge of web development/rudimentary HTML

        Experience with on an interest in upper funnel customer acquisition channels and economics


Job Duties


        Oversee IGN Store day-to-day site maintenance and product categorization to provide an optimal shopping experience that strikes a balance between conversion rates and average order value, as well as exceptional customer experience

        Coordinate with E-Commerce Business Operations Manager to develop ecommerce marketing calendar and determine necessary placements and assets to support major product launches and promotions

        Provide expertise in site merchandising and develop a roadmap of shoppability improvement solutions

        Coordinate with engineers and site developers to drive forward site improvement and functionality projects

        Plan and conduct tests for merchandising optimization

        Assess and report on weekly merchandising performance, analyze consumer insight data and create actionable recommendations

        Provide guidance and direction to creative design
