Livedrive are a global cloud storage provider, part of a billion dollar global group whose aim is to create the biggest and most advanced cloud storage platform in the world.

You will be working within a team of exceptional engineers and will be involved in both ongoing design projects and also day-to-day operations.  You will be expected to manage your own projects and possess excellent communication skills. You will be expected to pro-actively identify and resolve operational issues across the Livedrive platform as well as working on and running infrastructure projects as part of ongoing growth and improvements.

Our platforms runs nearly exclusively on our own hardware, so while experience of virtualisation technologies is desirable, being comfortable with hardware as well as software is essential. Livedrive is a fast-growing company and as such this role has excellent opportunities for growth and development.

The role involves working part of the week at a datacentre in Slough as well as our office in Paddington.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and Support IT Infrastructure
  • Develop, support and improve infrastructure to meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintain the server infrastructure (approx. 600 servers), data centres and cloud platforms.
  • Implement and support of key technologies in network, security, storage, virtualisation and server hardware.
  • Monitoring and being proactive with replacements of failed components. Ensure there is adequate spares in stock and ordered when needed.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Assist in managing the data centre facilities
  • Support the general business
  • Ensure that business continuity measures are implemented and maintained so that the impact of critical systems failure is minimised
  • Ensure that all system plans, policies and procedures are accurately documented
  • Generate regular reports on system performance.
  • Perform regular on-call duties as part of a team effort


  • 3+ years of supporting hardware
  • Experience with storage (JBOD, SAN, Fibre Channel, ISCSI)
  • Virtusalisation using VMWare & HyperV
  • 3 years experience with administrating Windows and Linux environments

 Desirable skills:

  • Understanding web-based technologies - Apache , IIS, NGINX
  • AWS Cloud Platform
