The Opportunity

Everyday Health Pregnancy and Parenting is seeking an Engineer Manager who has a passion for building world-class web applications in the cloud. As Engineering Manager, you will be leading and mentoring 2 teams of talented engineers for our Whattoexpect and Babycenter brands, to innovate and architect web platforms that serve more than 13 millions global users weekly.  You will drive execution of initiatives while collaborating with Product and various cross-functional groups to achieve business goals.

This is a great opportunity if you have experience managing teams that build large-capacity consumer-facing websites, enjoy working with new technologies and have a desire to build great products for new and expecting parents. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple web teams to deliver roadmap initiatives, providing technical leadership and execution and prioritization strategies
  • Manage  teams and provide guidance on various technology stacks
  • Grow and manage excellent teams of engineers, mentoring and developing their careers with effective feedback
  • Own and improve SEO and performance metrics for What to Expect® and BabyCenter® web properties
  • Collaborate with broader engineering and product organization to build products and execute project plans successfully

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing 5 or more software engineers
  • 5+ years of back-end web development experience using Java Spring Framework, React or .NET
  • Experience with leading multiple teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to manage technical teams working in various technology stacks
  • Deep understanding of modern web framework and how to architect solutions with stability and scalability
  • In-depth knowledge of front-end web development and how to measure and improve SEO and web performance metrics 
  • Skilled with AWS services and microservice architecture
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Have owned and built  large web applications solutions on scalable/cloud architecture
  • No minimum education level required. We believe and care about what you know, your experience and how you apply them, whether you acquired it from college or charted your own path beyond the traditional education means.
