The Head of Product Management (Leader) leads the team that conceives, designs, and facilitates the evolution of the product line for the Cloud Fax business unit. The Leader is the keeper of the vision for our products, and owns the strategy for bringing that vision to life in support of the company’s growth initiatives while we continue to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of existing customers.

The Leader manages and mentors Product Managers in the course of developing and executing the product roadmap. The Leader owns the product roadmap from conception and prioritization to the point of scheduling, where they will work closely with the leaders of the Engineering and Program Management groups to ensure that valuable additions to the product portfolio successfully navigate the software development lifecycle, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that products exiting the SDLC are smoothly making their way through the launch process with Customer Care, Marketing, Legal, and Finance to end up in the hands of our customers.

The Product Management team owns the vision and strategy for the product line to meet our near- and long-term goals and fulfill our mission. The team is responsible for evolving the strategy for enhancing and expanding our product offerings in response to marketplace conditions, internal stakeholder needs, and existing and prospective customer requests. The team is responsible for defining product enhancements via research, design, and specification efforts, prioritizing initiatives based on internal and external stakeholder needs, documenting and evangelizing product changes to other teams in the company, and ensuring effective rollout of new products and features into the market.

You should be a leader with experience in building and mentoring a team of new and seasoned Product Managers while understanding how to navigate and positively influence an organization cross-functionally at the executive management level.

Duties

  • Drive the continuous improvement of the product management process, always seeking to eliminate activities that do not further the goal of identifying, defining, and shepherding valuable product innovations into customer hands.
  • Coach Product Managers in the ideation and specification of new products and existing product enhancements. Enhance and optimize the product specification process and the team’s execution of it to streamline the SDLC.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-functioning team of product management and technical writing professionals.
  • Foster a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the team.
  • Working in partnership with Business Stakeholders -- as well as Engineering, Operations, and program Management resources -- create product enhancement business requirements.
  • Understand at a deep level the competitive marketplace in which we operate, including the strengths and weaknesses of our and competing offerings, as well as the workloads and ancillary products in which our key customers use our products and services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in our and similar industries to identify best practices, product gaps and innovations in offerings that can be used to address our product roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the products in our product line and how they fit together, along with their intended markets and use cases.
  • Evangelize the product vision and roadmap -- internally, and to stakeholders in other departments and company business units.
  • Regularly meet with internal stakeholders to solicit their feedback on internal and customer needs for consideration in the product roadmap, and ensure regular communication of upcoming product changes and enhancements.
  • Host the semi-weekly product roadmap review meeting for senior management.
  • Chair the cross-departmental fraud prevention committee for our products.
  • Participate in major customer calls to solicit product feedback, participate in the sales process by communicating product vision and roadmap items, and understand market needs and wishes.
  • Develop a reputation for thought leadership in our space by participating in conferences, webinars, podcasts and other public engagements as a representative of the company’s products and topics of importance to us and our customers.
  • Evaluate external companies and technologies as potential partners, vendors, or acquisitions.
  • Display solid fiscal responsibility by managing and adhering to budgets and always seeking out operating efficiencies and economies.
  • Model an inclusive, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic by showing a willingness to participate in daily workloads when needed to make deadlines.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with product management of software products, including both web applications and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, at least 5 years of which are for products directly serving the healthcare industry.
  • 8+ years leadership in product management with proven results driving team development and innovation.
  • 5+ years experience in product management in SaaS product integration with other systems
  • 3+ years experience in product management in healthcare-related interoperability
  • Deep understanding of business requirement creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead functional, technical, and strategic discussions to drive successful outcomes.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Keen analytical mindset.
  • Strong action orientation.
  • Exposure to both Agile and traditional (waterfall, spiral, etc.) development practices.
  • Knowledge of tracking and reporting tools, JIRA preferred. Affinity with Confluence a big plus.
