Who You Are  

You are an enthusiastic, talented and resourceful JIRA Administrator Rockstar with the relevant skills & IT experience. Someone who isn’t afraid of a good challenge and believes solid process and reporting are the foundations to the project team’s success. You believe in the power of data to look for project trends in order to further process improvements and isn’t afraid to voice your opinion.  You have a passion for JIRA and Confluence and love to explore different ways we can improve our usage for these two platforms.

What You’ll Do  

Reporting to the J2 Head of Project Management (fax division), you will be instrumental in turning our technical complex project needs into simple JIRA implementations focusing on the problems we are trying to solve and what type of reporting we want to capture, while being attentive to creating a collaborative, motivated environment.  


  • Responsible for JIRA project ETE lifecycle working in the Agile methodology, you will be  responsible for defining the roadmap and owning the project delivery for multiple JIRA projects with teams mainly locally but occasionally overseas
  • Configure, manage, and enhance Jira and Confluence tools, including native functionality as well as research, test, and implement plugins.  
  • Working with product and engineering, establish a solid planning and execution process to  deploy change to production  
  • Establish a clear, defined feedback mechanism to continually improve on our workflows and reporting.  
  • Keep all stakeholders from project team to executives up to date on project status and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across teams to educate, influence, and execute.  
  • Resolve project, design, or resource issues before they cause schedule delays.  
  • Coordinate or orchestrate with other project teams for cross-team dependencies​.  
  • Using data, you are savvy with Jira and agile implementations to identify trends and patterns  for continuous process improvements.  
  • Troubleshoot access and/or performance issues  
  • Provide Jira SME support to customers via approved collaboration tools  
  • Create and maintain scripts  
  • Create custom workflows, security schemes, post functions, and validations, make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting, and provide ongoing support and configuration maintenance.  
  • Create JIRA projects, queries, and reports  
  • Responsible for understanding the current process, gathering requirements, investigating potential solutions, analyzing impact, communicating with stakeholders, and implementing  solutions.  
  • Setting up monitoring and log rotation  
  • Executing Production deployments during non-business hours  
  • Interacting with Project Managers, Managers, Developers, Network Engineers and other Administrators  
  • Create, manage, and support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian product suite  
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and user-guides  
  • Evaluate and manage the usage of Atlassian add-ons to meet team and business needs  
  • Understand system architecture of upstream and downstream impacts when implementing  solutions  
  • Must have Customer Service driven mindset with strong relationship building skills  

What You’ll Need  

  • Positive attitude, high energy, attention to detail and ability to drive projects  
  • 4+ years’ experience as JIRA Administrator with experience customizing JIRA projects with various schemes, complex workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ hands-on experience working with the Atlassian product suite, with specific focus on JIRA as a Project/Application Administrator.  
  • Expert level Atlassian tool administration knowledge on JIRA and Confluence.  
  • Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language), a plus.  
  • Ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in JIRA, a must.
  • Ability to construct Confluence pages and integrate JIRA projects with Confluence pages, a  must.  
  • Need to have Scrum experience and ability to gather requirements and also work with PM's on execution/configuration of projects in JIRA
  • Understanding of the development process, including development, testing, and deployment, as well as work breakdown, dependencies, responsibilities (full SDLC).  
  • A great communicator with superb analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex concepts down into simple, clear, actionable plan.  
  • Willingness to dive in and research a project or problem from multiple points-of-view, drive consensus to supported conclusions, and lay out a clear go forward game plan.  
  • Strong ability to use/manage project management tracking/reporting tools  
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.  
  • Highly analytical, logical, and good problem solving skills.  
  • Ability to communicate and build appropriate relationships with all levels in the organization.  
  • Must have strong work ethic with good time management skills.
