Overview
IGN is looking for a talented Video Producer with a love of entertainment and video games to specialize in the creation of Branded Content on IGN’s Social Media Platforms. The right candidate understands how to ideate original platform specific content and is able execute on that vision through production. This position is currently fully remote, but in future (when it is safe to do so) could be in our Los Angeles office. Experience working on web content for TV or Online Media preferred. IGN’s is made up of all kinds of people that share a common love of games, TV, movies, comics, tech, and all things geeky. Goals
● To drive revenue for IGN by creating, innovative platform specific social content and programing that exceed the expectations of our audience and our partners
● Increase performance metrics of Social Branded Content, including revenue and engaged views across our social platforms
● Actively oversee and produce social branded content at all stages of Pre-Sale, Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production, and Publish to the above goals.
● Work collaboratively across departments on all parts of the process, from ideation to execution.
Responsibilities
● Supervise and execute remote/studio/location shoots for monthly video production
● Oversee projects in each phase of production, (scripting, coordinating, production, and post production)
● Work closely with IGN’s Social and Branded Content teams to concept, produce, and publish content that will resonate with our audience and exceed the expectations of our advertising clients.
● Identify and oversee additional production resource needs to execute desired production
● Track and report metrics
● Pre-sale
○ Provide content solutions for IGN's social platforms that resonate with an audience on that platform, while meeting the marketing objectives of our clients.
○ Write treatments including and detailing per platform specifics as part of RFP response.
○ Recommend organic solutions where possible to reach a client's marketing goal in a way that will resonate with a target audience on that platform.
○ Dig in on creative challenges and focus in on client KPIs for pivots to offer up creative solutions.
○ Inform on dark posting strategies and make recommendations where targeting a specific audience is optimal for performance.
○ Familiarize internal teams on Social packages and products and recommend solutions leveraging these tools (such as Snapchat show integrations and Story Ads).
○ Collaborate with core social team to determine publish timing for optimal organic performance.
○ Ensure production scope is properly defined and budgeted for on social executions.
● Pre-Production:
○ Active contributor in pre-production to ensure that social content goals are being considered and achieved.
○ Writes treatments and responds to post-sale pivots with updated content solutions for optimal performance.
○ Works with Social team to scope and put production plans in place for optimal social content.
○ Advise designers on socially optimized graphics best suited for the content pitched and sold.
○ Works with Project Managers on creating shoot schedules.
○ Responsible for writing scripts, prepping shot lists, and communicating with talent and production teams prior to shoots.
● Production:
○ If/when not overseeing production on shoot dates, expected to be an active contributor on-set during shoots to ensure social branded execution is meeting expectations. Producer for social content over shooters/directors on set. Takes field notes on-set for social content needs.
○ Direct talent as needed, or otherwise provide notes to the production’s Director.
○ Shoot content on set as needed.
● Post-Production
○ Execute or otherwise oversee post-production.
○ Assists in asset gathering including images, titles, clips, music, etc as needed.
○ Provide notes on the edit.
● Publish
○ Directly responsible for ensuring post copy is optimal for performance and client satisfaction.
○ Directly responsible for QAing posts and copy.
What will get you in the door?
● A reel or samples demonstrating strength in premium and commercial video production
● Strong knowledge of video production: producing, shooting, and editing for social platforms
● Experience with professional cameras such as Sony FS7/FS5, Blackmagic URSA, etc.
● Experience lighting for interviews and/or scenes.
● Experience developing and executing content for specific social media platforms
● Experience producing video content
● Post-Production experience.
● Adobe Premiere is required.
● A demonstrable understanding of what content works and is appropriate for different social media platforms
● Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team environment
● A positive, problem-solving attitude
● Passion for IGN and video games, movies, television, and comics
It would be extra awesome if you have…
● Knowledge of OBS and VMIX or other similar technical directing software.
● Experience executing pre-produced and live remote productions
● Experience developing and pitching original content in the games and entertainment space
● Experience producing video content in remote workflow scenarios
● Strong understanding of emerging web-video technologies.
● Understanding of Internet trends, SEO principles, etc.
● Done production at a TV or entertainment-centric company.
