As a UI/UX Designer at Everyday Health, you have a strong desire to create and evolve products that positively influence personal wellness and reduce barriers to a healthy lifestyle. You are naturally curious and have fun defining what great experiences can be. You have strong visual design sensibilities, with an interest in leveling up on your user experience design thinking. You love the idea of using research to inform your design decisions, and look forward to validating the impact of your work. You want to better understand how others choose to engage with your products, what they care about, what their goals are, and what they hope to achieve. You are comfortable with quick turnaround times, prototyping, and creating  products that meet both technology and business constraints. Despite any limitations, you are motivated by the prospect of being able to continuously improve your work, and go above and beyond user expectations.

What we’re looking for

  • Expert knowledge in visual design principles including, color theory, typography, and common interaction patterns across digital platforms
  • Ability to create original, engaging visual concepts that address design problems, bring the brand to life, and delight users
  • Experience in delivering high-quality digital products across web and mobile devices that deliver on user and business values
  • Knowledgeable in how motion can enhance UI and willingness to work closely with tech to execute your overarching vision
  • Ability to create, justify, and document UI patterns in a visually systematic way that ensures a holistic, consistent experience across all products
  • Ability to build upon visual design systems and digital style guide libraries in conjunction with peers to work towards product- and company-wide visual consistency
  • Enthusiasm for working within an iterative design process informed by user engagement findings and group critique
  • Ability to sketch and create prototypes as a means to explore, convey, and validate design solutions
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity surrounding design problems and exploring multiple solutions to a single design problem
  • Proficient communication skills, and experience with presenting your design thinking
  • Self-motivated and organized, always open to feedback and critique, and works collaboratively with leadership, peers, and product managers to fulfill on the overall product vision
  • Experience vetting developed designs against visual and functional specifications, and providing detailed feedback to tech towards necessary revisions
  • Enthusiasm for learning how to build user test screeners, develop testing protocols, and flesh out questionnaires for usability tests
  • Desire to learn how to translate user responses into actionable design insights
  • Interest in creating measurement plans to validate the success of your work
  • Willingness to work in an agile environment and seamlessly shift priorities when needed
  • Willingness to work with project manager to balance priorities with ongoing project needs – communicating blockers and delays when necessary
  • Commitment to submit designs on time and inline with product timeline and requirements
  • Unwavering attention to detail, an acute awareness that everything counts, and the drive to raise the bar with each new product release


  • A strong online portfolio demonstrating excellent design sensibilities and research-driven thinking
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, User Experience Design (UXD), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years in relative field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools; Invision
  • Familiarity​ with product animation tools; i.e. Flinto, Framer X, or similar
  • Familiarity​ ​with​ ​​Jira and Google Analytics, a plus
