What You’ll do:

The Senior Manager - DevOps role is focused on managing teams of DevOps engineers building and maintaining our enterprise infrastructure. You would thrive in this position if you are a hands-on leader who has built and managed highly scalable and mission critical cloud application systems.

 

Responsibilities: What will I do? 

- This is a management position but will require hands-on problem solving and exploring new and latest technologies. 

- You will work to strengthen team processes, manage distributed teams, and guide the careers of DevOps engineers on your team.
- You will provide strategic and architectural guidance to create an organization wide DevOps best practices
- Collaborate with engineers in discovering and implementing the next generation of DevOps tools for automation, infrastructure management, CI/CD and security.
- Be responsible for handling escalations of all production incidents and resolve them in timely manner
- Communicate with stakeholders across multiple cross-functional teams

 

Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?

- 10+ years of experience as part of DevOps organization
- 5+ years of experience managing, coaching and mentoring high functioning DevOps teams
- Expertise in architecting and implementing cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Kubernetes administration and hands-on experience with Docker
- Experience with big data solutions and ETL tools like Snowflake, Matillion etc.
- Experience with management of the following Applications/Tools: Git Lab, Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, MySQL, WordPress,Redis, Memcached, IIS, SQL Server
- Prior exposure to an agile development methodology.
- Working knowledge of JIRA or other project management system

- Some travel will be required between offices

 

Location: SWZD is a “Work From Anywhere” company. We value productivity over location, so this position may be performed from anywhere - a significant benefit for both the company and the individual team member. SWZD has offices in Austin, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix or London, though physical attendance is at the discretion of employees and their managers.
