Ziff Media Group is hiring a Financial Analyst to support their operational expense management efforts. The role centralizes vendor relationship management under a single point person for this business unit.  This is a great opportunity for a candidate with an accounting background to positively impact our vendor relationships, work environment, operational efficiency and our financial position.  The role is highly visible within the business unit and interacts with all levels of personnel and management.  The position also offers the opportunity to leverage new technology and applications to positively impact how our business unit transacts with its vendor population.


Position Description:

  • Establish strong relationships across the business unit’s departments and assist operators in managing their vendor creation processes, purchase requests, purchase orders, invoice submissions and approval queues.
  • Work with your counterpart in other business units across the company to ensure that shared vendor relationships are allocated properly and flow through the proper approval workflows.
  • Develop an understanding of the vendors used by the business unit, related agreements and payment terms to support budgeting and forecasting, monthly accrued expense estimation, and cash flow requirements.
  • Ensure that our ERP application and its supporting databases are always up to date with current vendor information including:  terms and conditions, payment terms, address, contact e-mails, correct name of business, etc. and that only approved vendors are established in the ERP system.
  • Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies; respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Face of the Business Unit for our vendor population.  Develop relationships that promote a high degree of trust and accountability between the business unit and the vendor.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of actual performance versus plan/forecast, and assess impact on future results
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial and operational analyses to inform strategy
  • Maintain files and documentation in accordance with Company policy and accepted accounting practices.



  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting, Business, or Economics major preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in a staff accountant or senior accountant role
  • Proficiency with SAP Concur, Nexonia and NetSuite or similar experience with the vendors and payments modules of large complex enterprise wide ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with financial modelling a plus
  • Attention to detail is critical as deliverables will often be presented to senior management where accuracy is essential
  • Strong presentation skills as the candidate will be required to communicate complex information in a simplified manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with employees of all levels
  • Must be eager to learn in a fast-paced environment and not be afraid to ask probing questions
