The Ziff Media Group Fellows Program is searching for energetic and motivated individuals looking to develop their career in digital media.  If you’re looking for an opportunity to geek out on tech, internet culture and e-commerce, in a fast-paced, data-driven, results-oriented environment, ZMG is the place for you.

Fellows will benefit from hands-on experience working with team leaders on valuable projects that move our company forward. With available positions across multiple departments, from monetization and marketing to analytics and editorial, Fellows will apply fresh and forward-thinking insights to real-life needs. 

Fellowships are geared towards individuals in the early stages of their career path who have a foundational knowledge of the industry and experience relevant to the specific role for which they are applying. Fellowships have an initial term of three months which can be extended for up to a total of 12 months. All fellowship roles are paid and eligible for our healthcare benefits.

As the Fellows Program is aimed at cultivating the next generation of digital media leaders, the culmination of the Fellows program may lead to future employment at ZMG. In the past, select high-performing Fellows have become full time employees at the end or shortly after their fellowship was completed.


Ziff Media Group is seeking an Analytics & Insights Fellow to join our team in 2020. The Fellow will analyze data from our web analytics tools and social media platforms helping to inform our broader content strategy. They will also work in lock step with our sales organization driving meaningful audience insights to support our go to market strategy. All applicable candidates must have experience in analytics and strong communication skills.


  • Track the performance of Ziff Media properties across multiple brands and platforms and develop actionable insights that could help grow our audience
  • Monitor real time traffic, video and social media data to support teams internally with takeaways around top performing content and trending topics
  • Help build out automated reports/dashboards across properties that provide insights into our users (i.e. content consumption, topic performance, engagement/loyalty, traffic) 
  • Evaluate data from Google Analytics, syndicated research services and social media platforms/social listening tools including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram 
  • Assess the competitive landscape and perform competitive analyses to understand what is going on in the digital media space outside of our own properties
  • Work to support cross-functional groups in the organization including Editorial, Product, Commerce, SEO, and Marketing/Sales
  • Distill complex information and large datasets into digestible narratives with compelling insights
  • Stay up to date on the latest digital media/consumer trends and package into relevant insights that help drive our business forward
  • Assist the insights team on audience personas, periodic reports, RFP responses, and ad hoc sales/marketing requests 
  • Package and distill audience insights in an engaging and thoughtful way that tells a story with the data


Must Haves:

  • Proficiency with analytics tools and services (Google Analytics or Omniture)
  • Power user of Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in major social media networks
  • Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and an understanding of how and when to be proactive
  • Strong team player with an interest and knowledge of tech and digital lifestyle space

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working with Big Data and SQL or BigQuery
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Google Data Studio, Tableau and Looker
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative primary research methodologies
