The Facilities Manager oversees and coordinates all activities related to any of j2 Cloud Services office locations domestic or international.  This includes a wide range of activities and responsibilities which may include managing staff positions who support facilities in various office locations:

Essential Duties

  • Supervise the design and upkeep of the facilities’ grounds and landscaping
  • Update and maintain the telecommunications and computer systems
  • Adhere to and improve health and safety standards
  • Plan for and oversee major renovations and new construction
  • Interact with our insurance company when necessary
  • Perform ergonomic evaluations and provide recommendations, and schedule annual ergonomic training sessions
  • Oversee the ERT and drills. Investigate and consider ordering “Earthquake” and survival kits for the office
  • Manage all vendor hiring, insurance documentation, and parking request if needed
  • Update floor plans when relocations, terminations or hiring occur and update data port numbers if/when needed
  • Manage documentation retention/management oversight
  • Manage copier services, negotiate equipment leases, (meter reads, orders, copier codes) and work with NetOps as necessary
  • Manage build outs, reconfigurations and furniture orders.
  • Manage off-site projects (moves, builds, reconfigurations, repairs) as necessary.
  • Review security camera records if needed.
  • Keep a watchful eye for hazards and respond when discovered.
  • Keep and file records of accidents reported.
  • Maintain appliances & equipment

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in building management and/or maintenance
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • OSHA Certified
  • Experience with Workers Comp and EMD
  • FedEx/UPS/DHL shipping knowledge
  • Experience building processes and systems that scale effectively
  • Experience at a rapidly-growing company a must
  • Experience working with external vendors and contractors
  • Technical working knowledge of building systems and trades
  • Must be "hands-on" and aggressive in completing maintenance work in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written
  • Role is based out of Los Angeles, CA and travel up to 35% of the time
