Position at J2 Cloud Services

We're looking for a Sr. SQL Server DBA to join our team as a full-time employee. This person will be responsible for installing and maintaining critical production environments. Full life-cycle DBA duties are required, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, and security. You will be working in a relatively new division interested in leveraging modern CLOUD tools to improve an evolving infrastructure.

 Required Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in administering critical production database environments (2008 and above).
  • Must have advanced experience in MSSQL Mirroring, Clustering and Replication
  • Must have extensive experience in deploying production changes
  • Must have experience in managing SQL RDS instances in AWS
  • Experience with installing and supporting SSRS
  • Working experience with other AWS products:  S3, EC2, TFS
  • Maintain database security and perform auditing.
  • Database backup & recovery
  • Must be able to perform database upgrades from 2008 to 2016
  • Experience troubleshooting system health and identifying areas for improvement

  • Technical Architecture
  • Capable of deploying ETL packages to SSIS
  • Knowledge in PCI & HIPAA Compliance
  • Strong Interpersonal skills & communications
  • Ability to collaborate with a geographically disparate team
  • Good documentation habits
  • Interest in DevOps: CI/CD, Configuration Management, Intelligent Monitoring
