Castle Connolly, a leading doctor ratings and research company, and a subsidiary of Everyday Health Group, is looking for a high-performing Sales Director to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets. Reporting directly into the General Manager of Castle Connolly, our ideal candidate is an experienced player-coach, responsible for both maximizing the sales team’s potential while also exceeding his/her individual sales targets. 

Individual Sales Responsibilities

  • Via phone, email, mail and occasionally in-person meetings, retain and grow sales with existing and new clients in order to achieve or exceed all individual sales goals and KPIs.
  • Deliver a consultative, solution-oriented recommendation based on client needs; maintain awareness of changes in a customer’s organization and alter sales plan accordingly.
  • Ability to organize and maintain many accounts.
  • Must be comfortable with a high call volume.
  • Accurately forecast and report monthly, quarterly and annual sales, activities and pipeline to senior management on a timely basis.
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline for future business in order to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Become a Castle Connolly product expert and ambassador of the brand.
  • Become market expert who is fluent in sales trends, industry demands and customer (physician) needs; identify and address current and future growth opportunities.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to accurately document and monitor all business leads, opportunities, activities and sales.
  • Other duties as assigned

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed overall sales targets through the leadership of a three person sales team.
  • Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of all sales activities, forecast opportunities and available pipeline.
  • Collaborate with sales and business leadership to create a comprehensive business plan to achieve or exceed required sales goals for product line.
  • Oversee the development and execution of plans for each sales team member to ensure his/her individual success; prepare direct reports to participate in regular business reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing sales processes/tools and work with ensure sales team adheres to them, supporting consistency in the market and streamlined operations internally.
  • Provide regular insight to leadership on sales activities, competitive information, market trends, product opportunities, and customer issues.
  • Keep sales team informed about the business and items influencing their ability and opportunity to perform.
  • Ensure proactive communication with leadership, Product Management, Partnership, Marketing and Engineering for ongoing product development and improvement. 
  • Hire, train, coach, develop, motivate, review, take necessary corrective action, and retain top sales talent, as needed.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to manage all sales activities and reporting.
  • Manage expenses for team against assigned budget.

  • Proficiency in using the Internet, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and CRMs (Salesforce)
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years’ sales experience in the healthcare or other relevant market.
  • 2-5 years’ experience managing a sales team that achieved or exceeded sales results.
