Revenue Accountant 

Everyday Health Group is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team supporting the Professional (“Pro”) business unit.  The individual will report to the Manager of Billing and Collections and will focus on all aspects of Pro’s revenue recognition.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing transaction entries for input into the general ledger accounting system.
  • Partnering with sales and ad operations departments to ensure the Company properly recognizes revenue as part of the financial statement close.
  • Working with sales teams to determine the credit worthiness of potential new customers.
  • Assisting in the management of customer contracts within the Company’s contract entry system.
  • Managing the Company’s customer invoicing process to ensure timely billing. 
  • Assisting in the management the collections process for open receivables.
  • Preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations for accounts receivable and deferred revenue.
  • Maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Company policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Responding to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting business unit and departmental financial data.
  • Completing external audit requests by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
  • Protecting the organization's value by keeping financial and operational information confidential. 
  • Preparing ad hoc analyses as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience: 

    • B.S. in Accounting, CPA a plus 
    • 2-4 years of experience in general accounting functions.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition standards for US GAAP
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (i.e., NetSuite, Oracle) a plus
  • Exposure and experience in Sarbanes Oxley compliance a plus
