DIRECTOR FINANCIAL SYSTEMS

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and established New York City Area Oracle Implementation Project Manager.  J2 Global and its Digital Media subsidiaries Ziff Davis and Everyday Health are migrating from NetSuite to Oracle ERP Cloud (“Fusion”) and are looking for a project manager to lead all strategy and day to day management of this process.  The role is highly visible and interacts with all levels of personnel and management at J2 Global, Ziff Davis and Everyday Health.  The position requires experience leading all aspects of this implementation and a thorough understanding of the different modules and applications that are employed.   

Location:  New York City headquarters and ability to travel to subsidiaries as necessary.

 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design an implementation strategy and present that strategy to senior and Business Unit (BU) leadership.
  • Gather and document project requirements from each autonomous Business Unit.
  • Design and document business flows and processes of each BU and how those processes will operate in Fusion.
  • Create and manage the project plan, giving periodic updates to senior management and BU leadership.
  • Identify and understand issues/risks that develop.  Escalate appropriately within teams, across functions and across BUs.  Design mitigation plans and champion adoption to bring to close.  Report on impact to project costs.
  • Manage the Oracle relationship and the project personnel dedicated to our implementation.
  • Provide leadership to project teams including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks, and functions.
  • Coordinate and schedule all meetings including critical cross functional and cross departmental interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve business processes and influence BUs to adopt those ideas.
  • Coordinate testing and test sign-off with external parties involved in module implementation (i.e. banks)
  • Work with BUs to identify, manage, and coordinate data strategy and integration dependencies for test cycles.
  • Pragmatic approach to process improvement, identifying risks and doing what is necessary to meet deadlines.

 

Technical Experience Requirements:

  • ERP Implementation: 10 years – with at least 3 years in a Digital Media or entertainment company (Required)
  • Project Management: 5 years (Required)
  • Oracle ERP cloud experience (Required)
  • NetSuite experience (Preferred)
  • Salesforce experience (Desirable)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

  • At least one implementation of Fusion as project manager for a digital media or entertainment company.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have an ownership mentality, handle complex problems, require minimal direction and be able to work within a multiple BU setting.
  • Accounting background with strong understanding of multi-currency and multi-subsidiary environments.
  • Solid knowledge of application development and testing, specifically data migration, integration and data dependencies.  Knowledgeable in both Waterfall and Agile project management
  • Understanding of change management methodologies
  • Ability to pick up technology and processes quickly
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening)
  • Ability to review, question and challenge the status quo
  • Sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
