Description

Position at IGN

Gameplay Producer

The Gameplay Producer at IGN captures and edits gameplay from PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch, and retro consoles for video features, strategy guides and other creative uses. In addition to supporting content creation, the Gameplay Producer is also a content creator, so experience with writing and scripting is welcome, and a drive to create cool stuff from your own great ideas is essential.

IGN’s team is made up of all kinds of people that share a common love of games, TV, movies, comics, tech, and all things geeky. We strongly encourage people of every race, gender, sexual orientation, and background to apply.

Responsibilities

Sourcing gameplay to support features in development. Scripts may require custom capture or collection of existing assets.

Editing full video features in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Collaborating with the gameplay and guides teams to create a content plan for new game releases.

Working with our team to find the best headline angles for videos, and making sure metadata, tags, and encoded files are correct before content is pushed live to IGN’s many platforms.

Required Skills

You have experience playing a variety of games (and are willing to learn how to play a bunch you haven’t!)

You have published content, and even better, published video features. Show us what you’ve made in your cover letter and/or resume.

You have experience publishing, syndicating, and optimizing video content for platforms like YouTube and Twitch.

You have experience writing attention-grabbing headlines and descriptions.

It would be extra awesome if...

You have your own YouTube or Twitch channel or have already been editing features on your own.

You can act as a “tastemaker” or “expert” for certain genres, and recognize and seek out cool aspects of gaming we can introduce a wider audience to, such as a unique piece of lore, or an interesting aspect about a property we hadn’t considered.

You are comfortable and confident in sharing your opinions on camera or through narration.

You can technically troubleshoot gameplay capture setups to get the best gameplay from sometimes weird sources.
