J2’s Campaigner product empowers our customers to drive sales and revenue using multi-channel marketing automation by creating personalized, 1:1 interactions through powerful email & SMS automation workflows that drive incremental revenue, engagement, and increased customer life time value.  With nearly 4 BILLION emails & SMS messages being sent from this SaaS product every month, you will have the opportunity to work on a high volume and highly scalable platform in the latest and greatest technologies.

The Campaigner team at J2’s Moz Group is looking for a Technical Lead who is an experienced and hands-on software developer to lead an agile (SCRUM) based software development team. You will collaborate directly with our software architects, product team, software engineers, QA team, & Ops teams; provide guidance and mentorship to developers; and also work in the code yourself.

Our team is located in Ottawa, Ontario but we are open to having individuals work remote from anywhere within Canada.  

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Become a subject-matter expert and provide technical guidance to the development team.
  • Be Scrum Master, drive sprint planning, run daily scrum meetings, assign and coordinate the efforts of both local and remote software engineers.
  • Collaborate with product and project management team to clarify requirements, understand business drivers, provide estimates and develop plans.
  • Drive and collaborate with other developers in the design and implementation of new functionality as well as performance/scalability improvements.
  • Collaborate with QA and product management in an agile development lifecycle in the implementation of stories.
  • Work with system architects to identify performance and scalability improvements.
  • Drive and support the overall team in the continued evolution of our development and delivery processes.

Experience We Want To See:

  • Experience as a technical lead to a team of developers.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications in distributed scalable cloud solutions with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
  • Hands-on experience developing micro services, web services, windows services, and working with queuing systems (RabbitMQ or equivalent).
  • Strong development experience with .Net and C#.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications with SQL server databases and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated track record of building teams in a time-pressured environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Development experience with JavaEE, Java Enterprise Bean.
