What to Expect, the world’s best known pregnancy and parenting brand, is looking for a dynamic Director, Sales Development & Marketing to join our growing team. The Director, Sales Development role is a strategic, revenue-focused position supporting the various sales functions of our What to Expect team. Through this role, the Director will balance creativity, media business experience, brand strategy and team building to develop advertising solutions, tools and position strategies that drive revenue for our Company and produce results for our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct independent research to recommend best-in-class tactics that leverage What to Expect’s assets and suite of marketing solutions to assist the sales team in driving revenue growth with new and existing accounts
  • Work closely with the sales team to support both reactive RFP responses and proactive upfront discussions/pitches for advertising opportunities
  • Identify and develop new products and product enhancements that meet the needs of our customers in collaboration with the Product and Sales teams
  • Build and maintain library of sales collateral; advise on process improvements to drive efficiency and clarity; recommend tool enhancements and partnerships to improve productivity and capability
  • Collaborate within the greater sales organization (client services, ad operations, etc.) to develop strategies to identify, engage and close new business
  • Identify opportunities and drive demand for WTE's emerging revenue streams (ie. CPL, CPA, etc.)
  • Utilize metrics to scope and price strategies, tools, products, and product enhancement recommendations including custom concepts, video, custom tools and product development

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience in integrated marketing at an agency, media company or publisher
  • Strong record driving revenue; Demonstrated experience meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Solution oriented, highly motivated and proactive self-starter who works well as both a team member and an individual contributor
  • Deep understanding of the media business
  • Understand business trends and advancements within the digital media and pregnancy and parenting sectors
  • Analytical thinker with understanding in both Web Analytics (Google Analytics or Omniture) and Syndicated tools (ComScore, Nielsen, MRI etc.)
  • Excellent presentation, phone, and written communication skills
  • Proven success working with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Passion for health, wellness and parenting.
