QA Engineer

This role will perform test activities on fax related projects.  The QA Engineer will be responsible for reviewing the requirements, writing test plans or test strategy, test cases, test case execution, automation script maintenance and evaluation of designs, analysis where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment.

 Essential Functions

  • Provide technical leadership detailed test and measurement development activity.
  • Perform back end complex design analysis.
  • Develop validation designs (including automated test systems).
  • Design and balance system test procedures.
  • Analyze requirements, provide feedback on missing business flows and designs
  • Converting design specifications and related requirements into test cases with expected results
  • Writing back end and front end automation scripts and executing through JMeter, NodeJS, Selenium and Appium tools
  • Monitoring the test scripts execution and analyzing the results for script failures
  • Coordinate staff and execution to meet production intent product timing deadlines.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and consult with engineering departments , Product Managers and Project Managers.
  • Working closely with QA leads to provide the test case execution and test case writing status and take the tasks from QA leads and provide timely updated on the task progress.
  • Follow QA standards and procedures
  • Design and implement automated tests, drive measurable improvements in automation capabilities against established goals
  • Modify test automation scripts and test case data, execute automated tests, analyze and leverage results to drive improvements
  • Reviewing BRD documents and review use cases to write test scenarios and test cases
  • Providing project status reports with test case execution and defect bug list
  • Reporting defects with proper troubleshooting analysis
  • Participating in production deployments
  • Engage constructively with other team members to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and train others in the use of our QA tools and processes
  • Contribute to project planning, estimating, and progress tracking
  • Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products in the field of communications technology.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • 2+ years hands-on DevOps Test Automation experience on commercial & open source tools Jmeter, Selenium, Postman, SoapUI, TestNG and Appium automation tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with JMeter load testing
  • Experience with one of the following automation tools: Jmeter, Selenium and Appium.
  • Experience in test automation in DevOps context for Web, Multi-tier, Mobile web/native, iOS, Android, Windows & legacy platform applications in Agile project environment.
  • Experience in test case management tools 
  • Proficient with HP ALM, Jira, GIT and SVN tool set
  • Hands-on experience in multiple programming languages: Java, VBScript, Python (desirable)
  • Hands-on experience with Jmeter, Appium, Selenium,  Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies, such as web browsers, Java, AJAX, HTTP, HTML/XML, AngularJS, JavaScript, CSS, XSL/XSLT, XPATH etc.
  • Knowledge of debugging, profiling, and software analysis on desktop, mobile devices & platforms
  • Exposure to video application testing on mobile devices and platforms
  • Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the testing effort, including plans, schedule, tools, and team members
  • Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (particularly Agile). Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum & Waterfall process environments
  • Ability to review test deliverable for completeness, quality, and compliance with established standards
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of software testing methodology and best practices while maintaining and enforcing quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
