Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Director of Procurement (Director) will oversee the procurement process for software and hardware systems for the company, and collaborate with Operations for the procurement and maintenance of production system equipment.

The Director must be capable of interacting effectively with C-level executives, department heads, and key stakeholders within the company. The Director must possess a strong hands-on technology procurement background and the ability to effectively collaborate with technical staff, understand global purchasing and governance requirements. As the leader of the Procurement team, the Director establishes fiscal discipline, highly effective policies and procedures, and effective collaboration among teams.


  • Recruit, mentor, and manage the Procurement team
  • Support all departments via competent contract negotiations and procurement practices
  • Responsible for the full IT Asset Management life cycle
  • Initiate, organize, and lead negotiations with suppliers according to desired objectives complying with local procurement policies and practices
  • Participate in defining IT commodities strategy by interacting with Operations team members for internal corporate and customer-facing production systems needs
  • Execute Purchasing and other commercial roles in alignment with global and regional initiatives
  • Build sound relationships with suppliers, particularly strategic Value Added Resellers
  • Develop external relationships with IT Procurement peers in other enterprises to strengthen market knowledge
  • Provide sourcing support and best purchasing practices guidance
  • Develop business plan strategies/opportunities for overall spend reductions in conjunction with leadership
  • Assist in developing specifications and/or scopes of work with internal customers
  • Collaborate with the Service Desk on asset tracking information for all fixed assets. Maintain compliance with Company ITAM policies and ensure successful internal audit results
  • Collaborate with the Legal department on a Contract Management System and ensure all contracts are properly tagged and tracked in the CMS at all times
  • Develop and issue formal requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP)
  • Participates on the Project Management when global projects are delegated to the local level
  • Manage list of IT projects Procurement and report on a weekly basis while assuring the IT Procurement strategy is met
  • Monitor savings and overall performance of the sourcing for projects: Measure, validate, and report savings generated by sourcing projects and the negotiations for cost cutting or cost avoidance providing procurement metrics
  • Drive process improvements with IT Asset Management best practices and automation
  • Coordinate with all business units for recording the receipt of all software/hardware assets
  • Develop and maintain the media library (digital and physical) for software assets
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Asset Management data information
  • Procurement and negotiation of all hardware equipment across the globe
  • Create and manage POs in Oracle
  • Logistics-Domestic/Intonations including custom clearance and foreign tax
  • Collaborate with legal, security and business technology partners to continuously improve terms in agreement templates and sourcing policies
  • Schedule and coordinate colocation decommissions, e-waste, and moves to meet business and regulatory requirements
  • Provide specialized support for Accounting from an IT perspective as it applies to Yearly Capex Budget
  • Coordinate with Operations on the maintenance, replacement and repair of PC, server, networking, storage, plant and supporting systems globally
  • Creation and maintenance of published data center documentation such as operations manuals, rack diagrams and photos, floor plans, and contact information
  • Enforce standard colocation and remote office operating policies, methods, processes and measures
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures in servers and related systems in a multi-platform environment
  • Facilitate as needed with Operations the scheduling of remote eyes and hands for all work performed in colocations and data centers globally
  • Research new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on hardware and software purchases
  • Evaluate new hardware/software and services
  • Participate in and enforcement of the change control and production control processes
  • Other tasks as assigned by management


  • 10+ years hands-on IT procurement and multi-vendor relationship management with emphasis on hardware and software inventory control and tracking
  • 6+ years troubleshooting or customer service skills with hardware and software (HP, Compaq, NMS, Dialogic etc.)
    5+ combined experience with any combination of the following items: IT Asset Management., Remote System Management, Remote System Deployment, Version Control, Disaster Recovery
  • Bachelors Degree and/or comparable Technical Certifications
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated and project-oriented. Project Management experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Presentation skills are required; candidate must be well versed in Google Apps and will be required to develop process documentation
  • Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. 
  • Works under general supervision. Initiative and time management are crucial
  • Experience performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
