What You'll Do 

Everyday Health Group is looking for a Full-stack Software Engineer (PHP) to join our Professional team at Prime® Education. As part of our tight-knit team, you’ll contribute to numerous high-profile projects of strategic importance to the business and will share your knowledge of best practices, strategies, and techniques. We work together to provide the best website experience for our Healthcare Professionals.

The candidate must have a passion for software development and be comfortable with both front-end and back-end technologies. You must have strong analytical and technical skills using PHP and MYSQL, as well as a strong JavaScript and HTML/CSS background in order to be successful in this role.

Working along with other Software Engineers, you will be responsible for creating high quality code while building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use. You will also help support live virtual webinars and meetings to provide the best experience possible to  our faculty and attendees.

You must be a highly motivated, self-starter willing to listen, talk and work well with the team, offering suggestions and taking them as well. You are a developer who enjoys designing software that performs and scales well, and you’re looking to join a growing team with an emphasis on creating exciting products. 

The Work

  • You will collaborate with a team of developers to design, develop, unit test, and support new features
  • Propose and implement technical solutions that fulfill functional and non-functional requirements
  • Be willing to challenge design ideas when other opportunities exist to solve a problem
  • Explain and “whiteboard” complex technical issues to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Expected to be proactive, ambitious, and have the desire to continually improve your skill set
  • Conduct system analysis and issue resolution as needed
  • Maintain coding, compliance and security standards
  • Work with other departments and stakeholders on product and software development, improvements, internal tools, and implementation issues

About You

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related work experience
  • 3+ years of experience developing in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS on LAMP stack
  • Experience with the following: PHP 7, PHP Frameworks (Yii, Laravel, or Symfony), Linux/Unix
  • Advanced skills in HTML5 and CSS3 (i.e. Flexbox/CSS Grid, Templating engines, CSS preprocessing) 
  • Experience with Vue.js or similar libraries and frameworks
  • Strong experience working with APIs and other web services via REST
  • Experience working with and augmenting the user experience for Virtual Webinar Platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and/or GoToMeeting/GoToWebinar
  • Experience working with Docker a plus
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) a plus
  • Experience with agile development methodology
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable working in a fast moving, agile environment
  • You are self-motivated, needing little guidance on completing tasks on time and meeting expectations in terms of requirements
