The IGN commerce content team is expanding! We’re hiring a Social Commerce Editor, responsible for scheduling and publishing daily tech and gaming deals and other shopping content across social feeds like Twitter and Facebook, as well as establishing an IGN Shopping presence on platforms like Instagram and Pinterest. In this role you will engage with the community in a direct and authentic way, with a lot of freedom to encourage and grow an enthusiastic community of like-minded gamers and deal hunters.

Requirements & Expectations

We’re looking for an innovative creator with a data-driven mindset. Candidates should be well-versed in new and emerging social platforms, both in audience make-up and norms, and in their publishing capabilities and limitations. Curious self-starters that thrive in an environment of experimentation and can track, build on, and repeat previous successes will succeed in this role.


        Previous experience managing professional social media feeds and presences on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and/or Pinterest is required

        Experience in professional community management or engagement

        Experience with productivity and collaboration tools like Trello, Slack or equivalents

        Experience interpreting and reacting to a variety of analytics and data signals

        Deep understanding of online culture



        Experience with ecommerce or shopping editorial content

        Experience with more traditional editorial content (e.g. review or news writing)

        Experience with any aspect of video production (hosting, producing, editing)

        A BA/BS degree (or related experience) in Journalism, Communication, English is a bonus but is not required


Job Duties

        Devise and implement an IGN Deals and IGN Store channel strategy on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and emerging social platforms, with an emphasis on engagement and audience growth

        Create and program a social content publishing calendar in close cooperation with the IGN Commerce Content team

        Make use of analytics and reporting to measure and share successes

        Coordinate and implement giveaway campaigns and contests

        Tasteful shitposting

        Seek out, foster, and grow a positive and enthusiastic community of online shoppers and gaming/tech deal hunters

        TL;DR: We have a popular @IGNDeals Twitter account and we’re hiring this role to grow that community, while also establishing and executing on a shopping content strategy and publishing approach on other social platforms
