The Associate Product Manager for security products at VIPRE plays a key role in developing solutions to protect businesses from the threat of computer-based attackers. The APM must balance customer needs, competitive pressures, and resource constraints to optimize value to the business. The APM is a thought leader who knows our customer base intimately and understands their needs, and who can work with global Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Support, Operations, and Sales to successfully deliver high quality solutions to the market.

VIPRE builds high quality, easy to use endpoint anti-malware/anti-virus solutions and robust email security solutions targeted at small- to mid-sized businesses, as well as industrial-scale threat analysis and intelligence solutions aimed at large enterprises.

Job duties:

  • Understand the Endpoint Security and Threat markets and available solution sets
  • Work closely with customers to understand needs from purchasing to fulfillment to ongoing use
  • Represent the unique needs of the EU market and its demands on the product portfolio
  • Be aware of competitor functionality and releases, and understand how to position our products relative to our competitors’
  • Translate market problems into discrete solutions by working with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to collaboratively develop a solution
  • Continuously review and refine solutions produced by Engineering and Operations to best fit evolving market needs
  • Proactively discover and resolve inefficiencies in VIPRE delivery processes and products
  • Achieve business objectives related to the above with high levels of self-actualization, communication, and collaboration

Job requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience in Product Management for security software or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant industry experience) 
  • Ability to produce high-quality writing and presentation samples that explain complex technical topics clearly
  • Ability to communicate well with customers, empathize with their plight, and help guide them to an understanding about possible solutions
  • Flexibility and responsibility to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and to deliver on commitments without requiring much oversight
  • Proven ability to influence without formal authority
  • Bachelor’s degree required
