Ziff Media Group is looking for an experienced analytics professional to join our growing Audience Analytics and Insights team, helping measure our audience and grow traffic/engagement across our products.  S/he will work across the Publishing websites in the ZMG portfolio leading the measurement strategy for Mashable, PCMag, AskMen and ExtremeTech.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide data-driven insights to inform our broader content strategy across on site, video, social media and distributed platforms
  • Manage audience traffic and KPI reporting, delivering insights and recommendations across teams to drive business decisions
  • Develop, build out and automate reports/dashboards across properties that provide insights into our audience (i.e. content consumption, topic performance, engagement/loyalty, traffic). 
  • Responsible for not only pulling reports and analyzing data but also focusing heavily on crafting the narrative, packaging the results and making recommendations around growth opportunities.
  • Identify business objectives and recommend measurement solutions to support those, ensuring that all required performance data can be reliably tracked and reported
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify and gather business requirements for website tagging across our websites and other digital assets
  • Work closely with the Product & Engineering teams to implement tag management solutions and conduct necessary QA checks by debugging analytics server calls and verifying data is being collected properly in Google Analytics
  • Provide in-depth analyses to deliver case studies/metrics recaps around the success of our events coverage  (i.e CES, Apple Keynote) and major commerce initiatives (Prime Day, Black Friday)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across groups in the organization including Editorial, Product, Commerce, SEO, Business Intelligence and Marketing/Sales
  • Help oversee the work and development of analysts on on the team

Qualifications & Must Haves:

  • 5+ years experience in digital analytics, insights and data science at a digital publisher
  • Proficiency with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Chartbeat
  • Strong understanding of data visualizations and working with large datasets, experience working with Tableau, Looker, SQL or BigQuery a strong plus 
  • Knowledge of how to define & document web analytics tagging requirements
  • Ability to QA measurement-related code changes and work with product/engineering on ad hoc troubleshooting
  • Advanced level user of Excel/Google sheets (pivot tables, Vlookup, data validation, graphs/charts) and Powerpoint/Google Slides to develop presentations
  • A team player with strong project management and leadership skills
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
