Ziff Davis is seeking a Finance and Accounting Systems Leader to manage projects connected to the finance and accounting systems applications deployed at the Company.  Position will initially report to the Senior Vice President, Accounting.  The position will serve as administrator for all applications:  NetSuite, Adaptive Planning, Concur, and Nexonia.  The role will also include responsibilities on our financial statement preparation process, the month end general ledger closing, acquisition integration, budgeting and a host of other activities.  We also would like this person to be able to help us more fully utilize our existing applications to gain efficiency and greater transparency.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • NETSUITE AND ADAPTIVE EXPERT, Required.
  • Partner with parent company financial systems leadership to develop a 3-year financial system roadmap for the media business units within the Company.
  • Partner with end users of the Company’s finance and accounting applications, (currently NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Concur and Nexonia) to understand business requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate data file uploads for budgeting, various accounting processes and monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Lead all financial and accounting integrations for acquired companies. Including, but not limited to:  Customer billing, collections, Vendor administration; payment processes and general ledger.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact when engaging external service providers and work directly with the external service providers on developing, testing and implementing customizations, functionality and applications based on the Company’s evolving business needs.
  • Provide project planning, management, and status reporting internally.
  • Maintain proper system access for all roles.
  • Manage implementation of accounting system releases for ongoing upgrades to the system.
  • Support end-user requests for new searched reports, KPIs and dashboards.
  • Lead training programs and develop necessary training materials for end-users.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • NETSUITE AND ADAPTIVE EXPERT, Familiarity with Oracle would be helpful, but not a determinant.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, IT Systems or other relevant discipline) required.
  • Experience with accounting and financial systems migration required.
  • 5+ years of Finance and Accounting System Administration experience, in a global company with multiple subsidiaries, business units and currencies. Someone from a highly complex environment.
  • Understanding of common industry standards for accounting and finance for media companies. 
  • Ability to communicate with all levels including management and external parties.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.
  • Maturity to handle changing circumstances and reprioritizations, especially around acquisitions.
