The Business 

Communicator, one of j2 Global's digital email businesses based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is an industry leader in the provision of enterprise digital communications, providing SaaS technology solutions, strategy and expertise across the key digital channels of email, mobile, social and web.

We work with a range of high profile global businesses as well as smaller growing companies. As part of our continued growth we are looking for an Account Manager to join our Account Management department.

The Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager, with an extensive background of managing 20-25 large corporate accounts, to join our busy and thriving team.

You will manage and own the relationships with a range of customers and will have excellent networking experience, able to forge and develop strong relationships throughout a business to ensure we are maximising our potential and servicing all areas of their business needs. Helping marketing teams to exceed their own objectives through tactical advice and consultation.

As an Account Manager your role is designed to make a substantial contribution to growth and success of the Communicator business, through retaining and growing customer revenues, building and maintaining customer relationships and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You must have a strategic approach to selling our portfolio of products and will be able to deliver value to your customer and serve as a trusted advisor.

The successful Account Manager will be a confident, articulate and presentable individual, able to deliver concise presentations to a variety of Senior Leaders. You will also be responsible for responding to tenders and presenting to customers and occasionally prospective customers.

This is an exciting role with huge room for growth, reward and success and we are looking for an Account Manager who is driven, ambitious and a quick learner.

A technical or marketing background would be advantageous but if you can display strength in your experience in other areas, it is not essential.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess excellent commercial awareness, able to report on ROI and best practice to customers. You will have proven experience of working in a business to business account management role and will have a successful track record in retention, growth and acquisition.

This is predominantly an Account Management role but experience of sales, business development and networking is essential and you should display strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively work with customer accounts, taking ownership of your own personal growth and retention targets. This will include identification of additional opportunities from increasing customer usage, introducing new products and services and penetrating additional departments.
  • Understand your customers’ goals for their business and proactively identify ways that Communicator can contribute to those goals.
  • Working with the Marketing Services team to develop strategies and tactics to make a real difference to your customer
  • Regular review meetings, via telephone or web conferencing, with each customer taking responsibility for their overall satisfaction and gathering feedback which is then inputted into the business
  • Ensure customer projects are managed through to completion internally to a high standard, whilst having continuous dialogue with the customer
  • Provide weekly forecasting and progress reports to The Account Director
