J2 is looking for an ambitious, creative, and versatile Java Engineer who has experience with designing, developing, and maintaining web applications. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented and self-sufficient contributor who will craft and develop Front End and API components to enable an optimal user-experience.

They will directly support and assist the Engineer Manager with driving the company’s technology platforms and systems.


Responsibilities of the Engineer

  •         Maintain and write code for enterprise systems.
  •         Code Review with improvement suggestions.
  •         Reverse engineer legacy code to find bugs and opportunities for improvement.
  •         Write detailed technical documentations, specifically business requirements and functional specifications for application development.
  •         Build and perform unit testing and debugging.


Experience and Technical Knowledge


  •         BS in either Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
  •         4+ years of engineering work related experience.
  •         3+ knowledge of Java and server side technologies. (Linux and Windows).
  •         Solid experience withf JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  •         Knowledge of common web services protocol (HTTPS/JSON/REST).
  •         Experience building RESTFull APIs a plus.
  •         Knowledge of database design and query language (Oracle, MySQL).
  •         Working knowledge with the Spring Framework a plus.
  •         Experience with Application Lifecycle Management software like Jira.
  •         An understanding of modern software development techniques, object-oriented design, version control, and agile methodologies
  •         Experience managing timelines and task priorities - Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required
  •         Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
