We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence that will manage support functions essential to monetizing all of Ziff Media Group O&O and off-site properties. In this multifaceted role, the ideal candidate will generate insights from a variety of revenue driving initiatives, including affiliate marketing, video, digital advertising, content syndication and licensing. They will be responsible for the overall yield measurement, product optimization, sales pipeline and revenue & expense forecasting.   

Reporting to the head of Business Intelligence & Revenue Analytics, this person will work cross-functionally across Sales & Marketing, Product & Engineering and FP&A to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the organization. He or she will be able to help identify the “why” or “so what” from a myriad of different data sources and will be able to act as subject matter expert and be a partner to both our internal teams as well as our day-today clients and their extended teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help monitor KPIs and analyze performance through campaign dashboards and readouts, determine the data requirements, extract and manipulate the data and develop a coherent story with clear, easy-to-follow conclusions with actionable recommendations in a concise, organized fashion
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis that answers audience, content, and business questions and provides actionable, data driven insights
  • Effectively measure yield across different tactics, strategies and revenue streams. Manage financial models for evaluating ROI to help set investment levels for existing and new marketing programs including new product and content opportunities.
  • Design, prepare and present all required reporting and dashboards for cross functional teams which includes, Weekly Revenue and Cost forecasting, Monthly Recap Reporting, and Daily Summaries of Promotional Activity and Merchandising Reporting. 
  • Support A/B and multivariate testing scenarios to improve usability, marketing performance, and conversion.
  • Work with the partner and sales organization to drive insights for key accounts. Uncover areas of revenue opportunity in our customer and prospect customer base.
  • Collaborate with Finance on projection models and business processes that support the strategic plan and enable accelerated revenue growth.

COMPETENCIES

  • An analytical thinker well-versed in tools within the Google Marketing Platform (360, Ads, DDM), SalesForce and demonstrated proficiency within data manipulation languages (SQL, Python, R) and/or visualization software (Looker/Tableau) 
  • Experience designing and evaluating A/B or multivariate tests.
  • Ability to use data to inform the efforts of product and/or engineering teams preferred.
  • Influential, high level of verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and presentation skills
  • High level of integrity and ethics, able to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 3-5 years experience in online media with a concentration in testing, web analytics and monetization. Experience working with large datasets, writing queries, structuring reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of excel, digital marketing KPIs, third party analytics platforms, and attribution methodologies
  • Familiarity with web analytics concepts and measurement techniques - e.g. traffic sourcing (SEO/SEM/Email), user segmentation, event tracking and conversion funnels. 
  • Demonstrated success working with executives at the most senior level on setting analytic direction and recommendations to direct business strategy and achieve high impact results.
