Description

This position is responsible for the support of J2’s IT related hardware and software worldwide, including data centers, colocations, remote offices, and cloud deployments.  The focus of this position will be on the management of IT assets worldwide, including software, throughout their lifecycle. This will include all logistical operations associated with the purchasing, delivery, tracking, decommission and reporting.

Job Duties:

  • Manage fixed asset tracking information in the ITAM system for all fixed assets.
  • Maintain compliance with j2 ITAM policies and ensure successful audit results.
  • Participate in projects at the global level.
  • Drive process improvements with IT Asset Management best practices and automation.
  • Coordinate with business partners on the receipt of all goods and assets.
  • Develop and maintain the media library (digital and physical) for software assets.
  • Assist in developing specifications with internal customers. 
  • Respond to requests from end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Asset Management data information.
  • Logistics-Domestic/International including customs clearance.
  • Develop processes around break-fix and provide documentation to support.
  • Schedule and coordinate colocation build outs, decommissions, e-waste, and moves to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of servers, networking, storage, plant and supporting systems globally.
  • Manage colocation provisioning and tracking software.
  • Understand and regularly update local inventory, maintenance, and license management.
  • Create and maintain published documentation such as operations manuals, rack diagrams and photos, floorplans, and contact information.
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures in servers and related systems in a multi-platform environment.
  • Manage the scheduling of remote eyes and hands for all work performed in colocations and data centers globally. 
  • Fulfill, update, resolve and close tickets assigned in the J2 service request tracking system.
  • Research new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on hardware and software purchases.
  • Evaluate new hardware/software and services when required.

Job Experience and Requirements:

  • 2+ years hands-on hardware configuration experience in a multi-platform environment (UNIX, Linux, Windows Server) with at least 2+ years of System Administration experience.  
  • 2+ years of combined experience with any combination of the following items: IT Asset Management., Remote System Management, Remote System Deployment, and Disaster Recovery OR other related systems. 
  • Technical Certifications are a strong plus.
  • Multi-tasking and self-motivation a must.  Project experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work individually, within a team, and with other groups. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  
  • Well versed in Google Apps and will be required to develop team documentation.  
  • May provide consultation on complex projects as required.
  • Promote teamwork and foster cooperation with other departments.
  • Report on capacity planning, SLA’s, policies, escalation, and maintenance procedures for the above.
  • Prepare documentation, status reporting, policies, procedures and reports for the management team. 
  • Provide customer service to internal business partners.  
  • Demonstrate initiative and dedication as well as an ability to work independently once general direction is given.
  • Provide detailed information through effective written and verbal communication and presentations.
  • Participate in and enforcement of the change control and production control processes.
  • Some travel may be required.
