The Ziff Media Group Fellows Program is searching for energetic and motivated individuals looking to develop their career in digital media. If you’re looking for an opportunity to geek out on tech, internet culture and e-commerce, in a fast-paced, data-driven, results-oriented environment, ZMG is the place for you.

This is not an internship; this is a chance to work with the best in digital media, learn the systems we use, and get a better understanding of our brands, content, and business model. Fellows will benefit from hands-on experience working with team leaders on valuable projects that move our company forward. With available positions across multiple departments, from monetization and marketing to analytics and editorial, Fellows will apply fresh and forward-thinking insights to real-life needs.

Fellowships are geared towards individuals in the early stages of their career path who have a foundational knowledge of the industry and experience relevant to the specific role for which they are applying. Fellowships have an initial term of three months which can be extended for up to a total of 12 months. All fellowship roles are paid and eligible for our healthcare benefits.

As the Fellows Program is aimed at cultivating the next generation of digital media leaders, the culmination of the Fellows program may lead to future employment at ZMG. In the past, select high-performing Fellows have become full time employees at the end or shortly after their fellowship was completed.

Overview:

Ziff Media Group is seeking a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Fellow to join our SEO/Audience team. The Fellow will help analyze data from both SEO, as well as web analytics tools to find valuable insights on our current organic performance, while also looking for future opportunities to grow organic content strategy. This Fellow has an exciting opportunity to work across several brands/sites within the portfolio, each with their own unique positioning and audiences.

All applicable candidates must have experience in analytics and reporting, content strategy, and a passion for learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Track organic performance across several Ziff Media properties using various tools, including BrightEdge, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Botify, and more
  • Perform keyword research to identify new content opportunities
  • Identity existing content for updates to grow audience
  • Monitor competitive performance for opportunities, and potential threats
  • Work cross-functionally to support Editorial, Commerce, Business Intelligence, and Audience Analytics as needed
  • Assist evaluating organic weekly and monthly organic performance, as well as looking for trends and opportunities to grow audience
  • Assist with distilling data into monthly reports with actionable insights—it’s not just about the why, but the what’s next

Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Advanced-level skills working with Excel/Google Sheets (experience with Vlookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting a plus)
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to know when to focus and when to multi-task
  • Ability to work within an environment that can shift, based on external factors
  • You thrive working independently, but also love working with a team
  • You are proactive, with an entrepreneurial spirit that seeks out growth opportunities
  • You are comfortable, in the near-term, working remotely, via digital channels
  • Familiarity with keyword research tools like SEMRush
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of content strategy
