Incentive Technology Group (ITG) is seeking an experienced, Data Architect for opportunities based in our Arlington, VA office in support of initiatives related to data architecture and enterprise data strategies within digital transformation and modernization programs. This is a high visibility technology leadership position requiring the background and operational experience with disparate data set analyses, strategic data transformation, data product and infrastructure recommendations, leadership in data stakeholder and steward alignment, among others. This role also includes developing technical artifacts that support technical designs, models and related data specifications, including mentoring database administrators and system development resources in a dynamic client and business partner facing atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engages the client organization, fosters key relationships and develops a thorough understanding of the enterprise
  • Coordinates with other architects and leads efforts as the data subject matter expert by applying a proven track record of defining, implementing, configuring, and managing data architecture aspects in tandem with other architectural contexts
  • Serves as the technical point of contact responsible for all data and data related efforts,
  • Provides technical oversight, design, configuration, infrastructure and deployment support for data stores and data migrations
  • Oversees the implementation of data projects and roadmap objectives, fosters enterprise adoption of canonical concepts, and leads the successful delivery of all related technical milestones
  • Authors all required documentation, briefings, models and designs around client data, including developing vision and target state data architecture deliverables
  • Develops SLAs and technical data standards in support of data governance and data implementation projects
  • Works closely with other architects, DBAs, development teams, security and operations staff, etc. to ensure timely and successful data development, migration, transformation, deployment and production operations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS in information systems or computer science
  • 8+ years of major projects focused on enterprise data architecture, master data management, data federation, ETL, security, quality and related initiatives
  • Data leadership, stakeholder engagement and management by applying excellent oral communications, solid presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience implementing large-scale solutions that empower business data and enterprise data integration using two or more major RDBMS platforms such as (Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Experience with big data and cloud data platforms (AWS RDS, DominoDB, Elasticsearch, Hadoop. etc.)
  • Applying data engineering in a large environment by assessing the current state, performing requirements gathering, and producing analyses in multiple dimensions for disparate consumers
  • Domain analysis and data modeling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical/ERD) using proven techniques and modern tools
  • Developing semantic layers and models in support of business intelligence and data analytics (BI and DW support)
  • Developing a target state data vision and supporting realization by leading development activities in conjunction with various teams to achieve objectives
