Senior ServiceNow Developer (384)
Description
OVERVIEW
iTech AG is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to support our Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) ServiceNow Task Order 3 program. This is a full-time, fully remote W-2 position supporting an established ServiceNow implementation focused primarily on Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), with additional Workplace Service Delivery (WSD) responsibilities. The developer will join an Agile delivery team enhancing HR workflows, scoped applications, Talent Development capabilities, reasonable accommodation workflows, and other employee-service solutions. Roadmap work includes HR system integrations, IntegrationHub-based interfaces, a new employee toolkit integrated with onboarding, data migration, and future Virtual Agent capabilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on ServiceNow developer who can independently execute stories while proactively identifying design questions, technical risks, and better solution approaches before development begins.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, configure, develop, test, and support ServiceNow HRSD capabilities, with HRSD as the primary focus and periodic support for WSD.
- Develop HR workflows, HR case-related functionality, reasonable accommodation workflows, scoped applications, and Talent Development / Employee Growth and Development capabilities.
- Evaluate user stories and technical requirements; proactively identify missing requirements, design concerns, dependencies, security implications, and opportunities to use stronger ServiceNow patterns.
- Recommend practical solution approaches for new work and collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements before implementation.
- Develop and maintain scoped applications using ServiceNow platform best practices, including secure ACL design and protection of sensitive HR data.
Support data loads, transformations, migration activities, import sets, and associated data validation. - Develop and support integrations using IntegrationHub, REST APIs, and related ServiceNow integration capabilities as roadmap needs mature.
Perform peer code reviews, troubleshoot complex defects and production issues, and support root-cause analysis and remediation. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation, testing, release activities, and technical discussions with FDIC stakeholders.
- Support WSD work as needed, including mapping updates and related workplace-service enhancements.
- Contribute to reporting and analytics solutions; Performance Analytics experience is especially valuable for addressing a current team capability gap.
- Follow SDLC, Agile, change-control, security, and documentation requirements applicable to the FDIC environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Approximately 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, or a combination of experience and demonstrated technical depth sufficient to independently perform senior-level ServiceNow development responsibilities.
- Demonstrated hands-on ServiceNow HRSD development experience; candidates must be able to develop and troubleshoot HR workflows and HR-focused platform solutions.
Experience developing ServiceNow scoped applications. - Strong understanding of ServiceNow security, including ACL design and protection of sensitive data.
- Experience with ServiceNow data migration/loading concepts, including import sets, transform maps, and data validation.
- Ability to review user stories critically, identify gaps or technical risks, ask proactive questions, and recommend solution options rather than simply implementing requirements as written.
- Experience conducting peer code reviews and troubleshooting complex application or platform issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders and participate directly in technical and requirements discussions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote Agile delivery environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to satisfy FDIC personnel security requirements.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - required.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) - required.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Human Resources (CIS-HRSD) - strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Performance Analytics experience, including development of indicators, breakdowns, dashboards, and actionable HR/service performance reporting - highly preferred.
- ServiceNow IntegrationHub and REST/API integration experience.
- Experience with WSD, particularly workplace mapping or related workplace-service functionality.
- Experience with ServiceNow Talent Development / Employee Growth and Development.
- Experience integrating HR systems or employee onboarding toolkits with ServiceNow HRSD.
- Experience with Flow Designer, Glide APIs/JavaScript, UI Builder/Service Portal, Automated Test Framework, or Virtual Agent.
- Prior experience supporting federal government customers or regulated financial-sector environments.
- Experience working with sensitive HR data and federal security/change-control processes.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
U.S. citizenship is required.
