ISP Model United Nations (MUN) Workshop Instructor Role Profile
Purpose of Role
The MUN Workshop Instructor is responsible for guiding students in understanding and practicing Model United Nations procedures, diplomacy, and global issues. This role promotes critical thinking, public speaking, research, and negotiation skills through engaging workshops, simulations, and conferences. The instructor fosters leadership and teamwork, preparing students to represent their school effectively in internal and external MUN events.

ISP Extracurricular Activities Coordinator Key Responsibilities
•Plan, organize, and deliver MUN workshops and training sessions aligned with the school’s academic goals.
Teach students the structure, rules, and procedures of Model United Nations conferences.
Guide students in researching global issues, writing position papers, and preparing speeches and resolutions.
Foster debate, negotiation, and diplomacy skills through mock sessions and practice simulations.
Mentor and coach students participating in national and international MUN conferences.
Promote intercultural understanding and awareness of global challenges.
Collaborate with teachers and academic coordinators to integrate MUN concepts into related subjects.
Evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
Coordinate logistics for MUN events, including participation in external conferences and school-hosted simulations.
Encourage leadership, teamwork, and civic engagement among students.
Ensure compliance with school policies and maintain a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Skills
Strong knowledge of international relations, diplomacy, and current global affairs.
Excellent communication, public speaking, and debate facilitation skills.
Ability to motivate and engage students in academic simulations.
Organizational and leadership skills to plan and execute MUN events.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.
Proficiency in research, writing, and critical analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Education, or a related field.
Prior experience participating in or advising Model United Nations programs preferred.
Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of teaching, coaching, or workshop facilitation experience, ideally within academic clubs or MUN programs.
Experience in organizing conferences, debates, or student leadership activities.
Demonstrated success in mentoring students in public speaking, research, and negotiation.
