Purpose of Role
The role requires the candidate to be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment through the demonstration of excellent written and verbal English & Vietnamese communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.
ISP Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities
-Collaborates with classroom and specialist teachers to deliver individualized, pair, group, and whole-class instruction
-Works with the classroom teacher to monitor the class schedule
-Assists teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
-Revises lesson materials with students individually or in small groups.
-Ensures the classroom environment is safe and clean.
-Oversees students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and on excursions.
-Collaborates with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
-Documents student progress and communicates with parents to keep them informed.
-Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
- Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement.
- Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students.
- Communicates effectively and collegially with all stakeholders
- Communicates with parents as per school guidelines regularly, including presenting student progress reports and informing parents of requisite student discipline.
- Manages the diverse ability levels of students.
- Maintains order and discipline among students while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines.
- Attends occasional continuing education seminars
- Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organization, and guidelines
- Support with arranging school bus for pick up from Airport, placement in temporary lodgings close to the school.
- Support in finding permanent housing, supplying suitable housing agency for expats… sending drink, snacks along with pick up, Finance support with bank account, arrange agency for accommodation, set up insurance... (check when submit name & DOB for arrangement insurance, heads up with staff about insurance situation (if any).
- Performs other tasks and responsibilities as might be reasonably assigned by your direct supervisor or the Deputy Principal/Principal
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Skills
Class Management Skills, Curriculum Building, Lesson Planning, Extensive Knowledge of Relevant Teaching Subject Area, Adaptable Teaching Practices, Creative Problem-Solving Skills, Patience, Empathy, Strong written, and verbal Communication Skills, Developed Organizational Skills, Deadline Adherence, Cultural awareness.
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong English language communicative ability
- Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
- Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
- Clean criminal records
