Purpose of Role
To deliver engaging and effective lessons in Economics, fostering students’ understanding of economic concepts, theories, and real-world applications. The teacher will inspire critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and a passion for learning about how economies function at local, national, and global levels.

Teacher – Economics - Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons in line with curriculum standards
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessments as per curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Support and mentor students with learning gaps or special needs.
- Teach topics such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, economic development, and financial literacy.
- Stay updated with current economic trends, policies, and teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents for integrated learning.
- Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings for professional growth.
- Maintain student records, discipline, and adherence to school policies.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (Preferred)
- Strong conceptual understanding.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans and creative teaching aids.
- Provide students with practical knowledge of budgeting, investment, taxation, and the role of financial institutions.
- Use recent news, government reports, and market trends to illustrate key economic concepts and stimulate discussion.
- Explore issues of economic development, poverty, inequality, sustainability, and the role of international aid and trade in developing economies.
- Patience, empathy, and ability to handle diverse learners.
- Collaborative mindset to work with peers, coordinators, and parents.
- Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, digital tools for teaching).
- Prior teaching experience of 4 to 6 yrs at school level preferred.
- Prior experience teaching Economics at the secondary or high school level preferred.
